we stopped by several times and we never impressed. old holiday decorations well past the next. the we are doing you a favor attitude by the employees is a turn off. the food was old at best, slimmmy salads. the right buyer could make this wonderful chateau a great place to sleep and eat. however until new owners come along... We have eaten here several years ago and decided to stop for lunch, even though there is NOT many eateries on 199 to Oregon. My wife had a Cobb salad and I had a grilled chicken sandwich. The salad was good and fresh. My chicken breast never saw a grill (no marks) but it still was good, the side of... More

$26 ribeye was big, 16 oz, cooked okay, but lots of fat, taste was okay but nothing great. The baked potato side was very small. Salad was meh. Friendly waiter and cold Corona if that counts!

Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Good food. Original interior. And in the evening a bar with plenty choices of good beers.

It was great having the restaurant right on site. The food was what you would expect, not mind-blowing, but tasty and well-priced.

I am a local of Crescent City and this is one of the first places I was told "I had to go". They have a great lodge-type restaurant and hotel rooms with a stream going by, right in the forest. They have amazing buffets, for example Mother's Day: they are packed. They serve amazing Bloody Mary's. Sometimes they look abandoned,... More

terrible place to stay, no cell coverage, no land line, hair dryer, tv not even an alarm clock and no one on-site after 8:30. We were the only car in the lot

We had lunch in this beautiful setting and enjoyed the food. My lunch came with a side of coleslaw, but it was the smallest dish I have ever seen. Literally two tablespoons of salad! The lodge itself is in dire need of renovations as it appears it hasn't been touched since the 1970's. We viewed two rooms and the condition... More

The sign says, "Eat, Booze, Sleep," which I find irresistible. So we stopped for lunch one day on our way to a hike nearby. The lodge atmosphere is terrific, and the bar was tended by a thoughtful and attentive waitress. Lunch prices are reasonable, $7-12 for burgers, sandwiches, and the fried oysters, which I order. Dinner prices looked too high... More

I was pleasantly surprised with my meal. It was much better than I expected. My only complaint is that every time I come here, they only have one person serving as waitress, bartender AND desk clerk for the hotel. Hire another person for the busy times already!!!
