It's my third time here and as always, it was very good. Not a fancy or romantic place but delicious food. A $1 salad??? Unbelievable but true. Very unusual pasta sauce options but I guess that is Japanese influence. I went with the garlic beef pasta this time.

I would definitely recommend this place. I always get their Uni pasta with seaweed. It is so good. I have also tried their others pasta and also good. Try not to go during lunch as it is really packed.

The concept of Spoon House sounds a little weird, but the restaurant is excellent. They serve spaghetti, and much of their menu is with Japanese-style toppings. They use regular spaghetti, as opposed to some other kind of noodles. Everything is prepared fresh and in plain view. I almost always order the #3 (spaghetti w/butter, cod roe, squid, and wakame), which... More

Can we call Spoon House an institution now? It's been at the same Gardena corner, sporting the same blue/white color scheme for years, maybe more than 30 (?) The menu gets an item added now and then, but it's been essentially the same for longer than you can imagine. How do you become an institution? Do something right, consistently for... More

I had been here for lunch years ago when a friend worked in the area. This was a dinner visit before a concert at the Forum and it was every bit as good as I remembered. Think Japanese fare on a bowl of spaghetti. Most of their menu items are just that and it's incredibly good. I had the spaghetti... More

My boss told me that he was going to take me to a great restaurant with good steak and good pasta. So he took me here, at first I was a bit shocked at the setting which felt a bit like a run down diner. I was handed the menu and then I realized that it was a Japanese styled... More

First visit in 10+ years and and the place hasn't changed. -"One Dollar Salad" is still a great value -Parking lot is still small and tight -Prices are decent for the portions -Lunchtime crowd is loud and busy -Not good for parties over 4 -Appetizer selection is small, if any. Come here for the pasta -If you need extra protein... More

Word of mouth from most of our friends and even family was that the Spoon House was a great little place with great Italian/Japanese spaghetti. Driving by periodically, the cozy little restaurant with patrons standing inside and many times outside waiting for a table has made me think twice and kept me to this point from trying it myself. Tonight... More

Their spaghetti with cod roe and sea urchin is great. Unfortunately they don't have sea urchin the last few time I visit :(

Went last night for the first time and will be back!! Hubby and I ordered $1 salads, pasta with bolognese with meatballs and the pasta with carbonara! Both of the pastas were good but we both enjoyed the carbonara more and would order that again. Although the bolognese was good......I've had better elsewhere. can't go wrong with the $1 salad!!!...
