Super fresh, no lard, unusual sauces, and lots of flavor! Much better than the typical Mexican fare.

This is a small place. Plan to wait. I have never had a bad meal here. Not your typical Mexican food. Be adventurous.

We were looking for Mexican food not too far from the hotel. The reviews on Trip Adviser convinced us to give Cenote a try. What a find!! They were super busy when we arrived at 7:00 but we found a cozy booth in the corner. Service was fast, friendly and welcoming. My partner ordered the enchilada bowl which was far... More

I love this place! The food is so fresh and not greasy and heavy like so many Mexican restaurants. The couple that own it keep a great variety of specials in addition to the menu. The only thing is, be prepared to wait for service. It is slow.

There were 8 of us, so we ordered a variety of dishes. All were very good. The service was very slow. They seemed short handed because our waitress also helped out in the kitchen.

My sister and I visited Cenote Grill because of its high Trip Advisor ratings. A small and popular place for nice Mexican food and dining. I had 3 street tacos plus a fish taco, both side orders, and ended up with more than I could eat. My sister loved her sweet and spicy Tacos al Pastor.

I've been here several times, as my wife and her sister both like a couple of the dishes on the menu. Food is pretty good, though not exceptional, and beer choices better than average for a Mexican restaurant. Biggest issue for me - SLOW service, even when there isn't a crowd. I can understand delays in getting a meal to... More

Looking on TripAdvisor for restaurants and was intrigued by Cenote Grill's reviews. Well worth seeking out, even though GPS and street numbers weren't helpful, because the food really is well prepared. (Continue down El Norte Parkway about a mile and a half from freeway to a strip mall.) There are a few outside tables and a nice dining area. The... More

Cenote has the freshest highest quality Mexican food of any other Mexican restaurant in San Diego County. I try to go once per week. Great Tacos Al Carbon and Burritos. Fresh " Real " quacamole.

I do love this restaurant. The staff is always very friendly and the food is so good. They have a different twist on Mexican food and it's delicious. Try the Enchilada Bowl, it's soooo good. The only downside is that it is very small and the wait time can exceed an hour on the weekends.
