My wife and I has a nice lunch at the Cafe. We sat outside with our two dogs. We encountered at least three different staff people and they were uniformly friendly and helpful. The food is basic and very good - a tuna melt and a BLT. Good food, good value and good people is hard to beat.

Hubby and I had a "date day" instead of "date night" and explored downtown Encinitas for a change. Of course we got hungry and found this charming place. There were seats outside so we sat down immediately. The menu was typical cafe/diner menu but what intrigued me was the lunch specials. They had homemade salmon tacos and beans. It was... More

Great place for Breakfast or Lunch. Also open for dinner. Breakfast is always good. Try their oatmeal pancakes, they are super. Homemade food. Their roast their own turkey and the turkey meals remind you of Thanksgiving.

Really enjoyed this seemingly random cafe in Encinitas. We drove here from La Jolla. The food is great and what you expect from a diner environment and the cinnamon rolls are really good.

Plenty of stories from locals. This place has history and you can generally hear it at breakfast most mornings. I used to be a local in Encinitas so breakfast here was a nice treat (and very good by the way). If you sit outside you can easily get involved in a story with another local, often someone who knows the... More

Walked in the Coffee Mill Cafe (now Encinitas Cafe) in 1976, ordered the scrambled eggs and ham special. Forty years later I get the buckwheat waffle, but my wife still gets the scrambled eggs and ham. Same wonderful service, mostly the same decor (the buffet in the side room is no more. Lets say, 2 Sundays per month for forty... More

Had a great breakfast here with friends. Best egg Benedict I've had. Staff are fun, friendly, efficient and it's easy to see they like what they do.
