My friend and I were looking for a tasty treat and stumbled upon Michacana, which is located in the Stater Brothers plaza in Desert Hot Springs. We thought that we would take a chance so we went into the store and were met by friendly faces behind the counter, ready to serve us. After a few taste tests my friend... More

After checking with Trip Advisor we decided to try out this place. Our food was delicious and extremely reasonable. Don't be fooled by the outer appearance, this place was great.

Locally this place is known as the green jail. Teresa, the owner, is attentive and efficient. The food was very good and the enchiladas are very affordable and delicious. I had the fish taco and it was also good. This is a favourite place of ours and we will go back.

The restaurant is out of town towards I-10. The bars in front were rather unique but we saw no indications of crime in the short time we were there. Spanish is spoken here (and English). The food was DEFINITELY very good, the locals who were there seemed to be locals. the service was friendly and excellent.

My friend invited me to try this little local restaurant. It really is a hole-in-the wall (don't let the outside affect your trying this out), with real Michoacan recipes. I had the Chile Verde burrito and it was delicious. My friend enjoyed the Chile Carne with rice and beans. The salad presentation on his plate was impressive. Overall, I would... More

I was hesitant to stop in as the outside looks anything but welcoming. I'm glad my friend pushed and said the we should pop our heads in and take a look. It's bright and charming inside. They serve good, solid, homemade food. We had enchiladas, chili rellenos, and a chimichanga. It was a very satisfying lunch stop.

A very unassuming place I found from a YELP review. Obviously homemade food. Interesting restaurant to try but not sure I'd come back.

I have been looking for great Mexican food in this area for a long time. So many Mexican restaurants so few that are really good. I have driven by this one many many times and probably would have continued to do so. The Outside is not inviting. In fact you'll probably want to pass. Stop once and you'll return. The... More

We went for a casual lunch on a Monday and it was fairly quiet (about six people inside). Things started well when the fresh taco chips and salsa landed on the table. I had a delicious and filling carnitas plate (beans, rice, pork, salad). Friends enjoyed a burrito and an enchilada. This place has an authentic Mexican vibe and very... More
