Had breakfast here this morning and the eggs Benedict were perfectly cooked (not always so at lots of places) and my husbands omelette Joe's hobo was huge and we thought we would be taking it home but he ate the whole thing. Had orange marmalade too. Good service nice off the highway stop

If you want Meatloaf, Mac and Cheese, or Meatballs rather than things with less familiar names you'll like Black Bear Diner. Nothing spicy or adventurous, just large portions of simple food.

This is my favorite to go place when I visit my daughter in Davis. We eat here at least two times before we go home. The food is always good, fresh and we get plenty of it. The customer service is great, and I always feel like I am at home when I dine here.

You know what you'll get at BBD- consistently good food and lots of it. Our waiter was great. Great thing about this location is that it's not in the heart of downtown Davis, so even with it being move-in weekend at UCD (love you sweetheart) we were seated with no wait.

I was looking for a diner close to my daughter's place and found this. When we got here, we realized that it's the same restaurant that we ate at when we went to Seattle and which we really enjoyed. Portions are huge at this restaurant. I wanted to eat dessert but was too full so I couldn't. Those pies looked... More

Always busy on Sunday breakfasts. Service is fast and welcoming. Wide selections of choices and large portions. A leisurely & cozy place to kickoff a delicious Sunday.

Service here was quick and efficient. We ate here twice and we're pleased with our selections each time. We would eat hear again when visiting Davis.

I'm not sure this is exactly the Black Bear Diner that we stopped at for breakfast. Ours was just off I-5 N and between L.A. and Sacramento. In any case, we enjoyed the experience. The service was quick and friendly even tho they were very busy. The food was very tasty, the homemade biscuit is immense (think about sharing), the... More

This lamely themed chain coffee shop is for the bears, since bears require 4000 calories a meal and usually sleep for hours after eating. This clean and friendly café serves up enormous portions of mediocre food and fair prices. Nothing was bad, but nothing was delicious or special - just HUGE. I would weigh 600 pounds if I ate here... Delicious, large & good value breakfast. Çalifornia bacon poached eggs were perfectly done. Service was fast, friendly, & attentive. Comfortable ambiance all around except for the clanking plates from the kitchen.
