Me and my wife stayed at the Marriott and went for a gondola ride and was recommended to come down to the Ferry landing to eat and we came here as Italian sounded good. The restaurant is very nice with scenic views. There was alot to pick from on the menu and the waitress was extremely good and recommended things,... More

My wife and I got to the Marriot just down the sidewalk and wanted to get lunch. Mid afternoon on a Thursday so almost no one there. Despite that the hostess wanted to seat us right next to the only other table that had other people. Easy change to window table three tables away. However, people walked in just behind... More

Our lunch was wonderful! The wait staff so attentive and eager to make sure your meal is exactly what you want. I started with the Carpaccio which was tender and tasty followed by Pennoni Alla Vodka which the aroma prepared you for something wonderful before it was placed on the table. The large tubes of pasta were laced with a... More

From a window table in the restaurant you are looking at the bright lights of San Diego, just across the bay, beaufi. The menu is Italian, with regional specialties offered regularly. Parking is OK, the prices are reasonable, and the food is very good. If your looking for a really inexpensive dinner consider the bar lounge. An excellent pizza, two... More

Most enjoyable evening was had by all employees and guests. Beautiful private room in the restaurant with the most spectacular view of San Diego. The service and Italian food was incredible.

After multiple visits to Coronado Island during the past decade this restaurant remains remains a favorite destination. Solid Italian menu, excellent service and a spectacular view across the bay to downtown San Diego are a winning combination. In our opinion high ranking is well deserved.

It has a feel like it belongs on the coast of Italy. Nice atmosphere. Accommodating wait staff. Food was done well. This is a good Italian restaurant. Great views of the bay and San Diego.

The views of the bay from this location are spectacular. While we do miss the on-site bakery counter and coffee, which we used to visit every weekend, this spot still brings back memories, and we will always love Il Fornaio.

Not so great given the elegant atmosphere. Food not hot enough. It stays on a counter with no radiant heat on it and waits for a cart to be loaded up and distributed to multiple diners. Not too sure, but the food seemed to be sub par taste wise.

Having lived in Italy (courtesy of the US Air Force) we love it when we get to eat something that takes us back. Il Fornaio does that superbly! To start, the bread was fresh, varied, and hot. From there, our beet salad, mushroom soup, burrata, and cappalacci con zucca were AMAZING! The maitre d' and our waiter both spoke with... More
