Clayton's Coffee Shop is AWESOME !! We had breakfast, lunch and dinner there during our 3 day stay on Coronado Island. "Comfort Food" and home cooking menu items. Great sized portions. Reasonable prices. Very friendly and prompt service. Charming old diner feel. Convenient location. It was so good, we want back again. I highly recommend.

We loved visiting this old style diner! The atmosphere was fun and friendly, and the food was great! We had traditional breakfast and opted for the french toast in lieu of pancakes. It was great food and great prices! Start here and spend the day on the beach after with an ice cream stop later!

Our family of 5 stayed on Coronado for a week and tried Clayton's the first morning. We came back every other morning. The indoor cafe is awesome - great breakfast fare. On the side street there is a take out window for amazing breakfast sandwiches, homemade donuts and coffee. They also have great smoothies. Enjoy.

My husband and I went for breakfast on a Sunday. He loves these types of diners, so I oblige him every so often. The service was good, and the busboy busted his tail to get us seated quickly as the placed was slammed. The coffee and chai latte were surprisingly delicious! Far better than your average diner coffee. However, I... More

I went there twice on my 4 day stay in Coronado. They open at 6am - perfect for early risers. The food is great, ordered the meat omelet - very huge portion. Our waitress was a little grumpy the first morning but nevertheless, the great 1960's diner atmosphere mad up for it. I stop there every time I am in... More

This is such a great little place for breakfast. It's like a old malt shop with all the food homemade. It is really worth the wait. The eggs, bacon and blueberry pancakes were just so good. The staff is amazing as well. I will be back if ever in Coronado again.

We were on Coronado Island for 9 days & went to Clayton's Coffee Shop four times, twice for breakfast, once for dinner & once for shakes. It's such a fun fifties diner with excellent service & food. This is a must stop while visiting Coronado. We absolutely loved Clayton's!

We decided to try the inside seating at Clayton's based on previous positive experience with the outside window service. It was around 1100 and we thought the timing might favor quick service. The room was jammed, but we were able to sit immediately at the counter. I felt the service was a little pokey but certainly friendly. Coffee and water... More

This diner is one I would go out of my way for. The food (eggs Benedict, omelets) were excellent. Great service as well.
