We’ve been for lunch (preferred), dinner, and football playoff games (I know, I know). Nice selection of food, wine, and drinks. Manhatten clam chowder as well!

Wow just terrible- we were served food before we had drinks or bread (that didn’t come till we were finished) my grandsons never received their drinks (shark attacks) although we asked three different workers. My son-in-law’s burger although ordered medium rare came medium well. It...was literally like pulling teeth to get any service. I think there are better options on Coronado and would search those out if dinning with kids.More
Everything about our experience was nice. The food was excellent and the ambience was excellent. We love Bluewater Boathouse's history. We had the octopus, asparagus, fresh local swordfish, and the melt in your mouth cod. All fantastic. But the highlight was the service. Our waiter...(forgot his name, had a mustache) was attentive, provided perfect descriptions, and had a great sense of humor.More
Not impressed. Food was average and overpriced. The restaurant was noisy. Based on previous experiences at this location when it was under different ownership, we expected a much nicer venue but we were terribly disappointed with the current offering. The staff was adequate at best,...originally bringing us the wrong dishes and then they forgot my wife’s glass of wine. Not the most memorable evening. Would not recommend this restaurant.More
Hannah was a very attentive server. She really knew her menu and made a great beer recommendation. Fries on the Happy Hour Menu were delicious.
Beautiful spot with great harbor views… we went at abt 12:30 and didn’t wait long for a table by the window (inside dining). Service was a little slow to start but the server was very attentive once she got to our table. We ordered the...crab&artichoke dip for a starter with a bottle of sparkling wine and requested an order of cioppino and the pasta with scallops & shrimp to follow. My review here becomes less positive… the food was not particularly bad, it jst wasn’t very impressive…more underwhelming. There wasn’t any noticeable crab or artichoke in the dip and the chips were nothing special. The cioppino had NO crab, one almond size scallop, maybe 2 shrimp and, several pieces of unidentifiable fish. The tomato base was however, excellent! The pasta was PLENTY…not very well seasoned, but plenty. The pasta is the only thing that was plenty in the dish. There was 1 & 1/2 scallop and 4 tail on shrimp. Though we won’t go back I must say the servers do an excellent service and if you’re looking for a great place for a mediocre meal, this is it!More
Took my Family for dinner while visiting Coronado. Good Food, great atmosphere. I’ve had better Calamari appetizers elsewhere but it was still good. Great Customer service.
We loved this restaurant. Tom, our waiter was terrific and the food lived up to the hype. Good value for good food. I had the halibut & it was delicious.
Not worth it. Food on chair and on floor around table when shown to table. Service was chaotic, sat at table for nearly half an hour with no water and no server before having to find someone to ask who server was. Food when it...finally came mediocre and not worth the price.More
What a great restaurant! We were given a lovely table by the window and the menu had so many options. Everything we ordered (blackened swordfish, calamari steak, fish & chips, grilled asparagus and chocolate cheesecake) was excellent. Our waitress was lovely too - friendly and...attentive. We would definitely return and recommend to others.More
We had an excellent meal, t he location is wonderful, right on the water in a quiet space 2 mins walk from the Hotel Coronado. We sat outside which was great, ask for that when you reserve, you need a reservation. Amazing food, friendly service....Good choices for the kids as well.More
I walked away from this dining experience very mixed. The view from the outside table where we sat is amazing. The food however, was underwhelming. I had a horrible experience with a bad oyster that may have tainted this review somewhat, but I still think...overall the food was just average at best, especially for the price. I have eaten at least 500 oysters in my day, and never one that was even slightly bad. Not sure how the one we got made it passed the kitchen staff, but it was seriously tainted. I had ordered the oysters Rockefeller and the first one, of four, was quite tasty. The layer of cheese hid the smell until it made it into my mouth on oyster number two. Probably one of the worst tasting things I have ever put in my mouth. I don’t usually spit things back out while at a dinner table, but this was horrific. Needless to say I sent that back and ordered the Calamari. It was decent, but more bready, than Calamari. The mains were again average. I had the scallops, and my wife had the Sea Bass. The Sea bass had a nice flavor, but very tough and pretty dry. My scallops were again ok, but nothing amazing like I have had at some other restaurants. Several had large bits of sand and they didn’t have the nice sear I have had a few other places. The highlight of the evening was the mud pie. Nothing about that was flawed. Incredible. Wine was nice, but pretty close to 300% mark-up from what you would pay in a store, so be prepared for that. We were also surprised at the lack of non-alcoholic beverages on the menu. San Diego has some amazing NA beers, but the only NA beer they had on the menu was “buckler”. Our server Sterling was pleasant, professional, and let us take our time with the meal, and the view and desert were amazing. Those few things however, couldn’t make up for what else was a quite mediocre dining experience.More
The reviews for this restaurant are all over the place, but we had a good experience on the evening of June 2. We were seated on the East patio. Though the area was a bit noisy, we were able to have a decent conversation without...yelling. We ordered crab cakes for appetizer--they were just fair, and small. We ordered the Butter Fish and Blackened Swordfish plates and both were delicious! We split a key lime pie for dessert and it was certainly worth every calorie! Our waiter talked way too fast, and I even commented, hoping he would slow down a bit, but he didn't. He was definitely all business, and ready to move on to the next table. Overall, I would say this was a good dining experience.More
VERY LOUD. Went to Bluewater Boathouse for a birthday dinner with two elderly family members. It was too loud to carry out a conversation and frankly unpleasant due to the noise level. The service started off slow, but got better. Food and bread were good....They kindly gave us a petite birthday dessert with a candle. Free parking. Would not go back due to the noise level.More
Everything about this meal was perfection! Our server, Harvey was outstanding...professional, knowledgeable, and helpful...one of the best servers I've had in a long time. They make a great mai tai (diverse specialty cocktail menu all sounded amazing as well as a good wine list). Outstanding items...were the bread and scalloped potatoes! Sand dabs were also very good. So many excellent sounding menu items, it was hard to choose.More
