We had high hopes for this restaurant but were very dissatisfied with the food. It's one of the most expensive places in Carmel and so not worth the money. We wanted to try a couple of the appetizers but had some questions (like where were they getting heirloom tomatoes and artichokes in December) before we ordered. Our waiter, who was... More

We've eaten at Grasing's before and have generally been pleased. But our most recent experience was mixed. First of all, the Maitre d and the sommelier had attitudes. Maybe because we brought a couple of wonderful wines with us rather than ordering from their wine list. Not sure, but we could have done without the annoying pretentiousness. On the other... More

My husband and I dined at Grasing's for Christmas dinner. Wonderful meal and great service. The restaurant is a small elegant restaurant. I had the pork loin and my husband had roasted turkey. Both meals were amazing! We plan to go back next time we are in Carmel.

It's hard to put this one into words, on many levels. First, must say we have dined at Grasing's several times over the years and loved it. The atmosphere, service, food - all top notch, and it's been a Carmel institution for many years. So, when planning a Thanksgiving weekend in Carmel, we chose Grasing's for our Thanksgiving Day dinner.... More

Planned a special evening for my husband's birthday. The hostess gets and A+ for being so nice. I had high hopes based on Many friends telling me about the restaurant. Had to send my lemon drop martini back, turns out the woman next to me had ordered one as well and hated it. My heirloom tomato salad was Incredible -... More

Charming atmosphere, sophisticated but still quaint with it's white linen table clothes and superb wine glasses to accommodate the excellent wine list and wines by the glass, too. Food is gourmet and we have frequented this restaurant every visit to Carmel and everything is always fabulous including the wait staff !

I usually don't write bad reviews but I have to keep it real, the food was okay but nothing too special. Our server Ryan was beyond terrible. He forgot to bring our appetizer. He also brought our bill out after 15min of our entrees being on the table. I would not return.

From Michigan to Northern California, my 60th birthday celebration entailed a full 10 days of touring, wine and food. We chose Grasing's on my actual birthday. As a couple we do not shy away from spending when we travel but everything is relative to the value, Grasing's offering of wines are (in our opinion) not justifiably priced. Beyond that the... More

Our party of eight was seated near a quiet corner as we had requested. The servers and bartender we all friendly, gracious and well trained. Our 'specialty cocktails' were to die for. Bloody Mary with a large piece of crab, celery, and olive, the blackberry pomegranate margarita, the bellini, all were delicious. The brunch menu was a nice blend of... More

Description
Grasing’s, located in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea, lies along the Pacific Coast in Central California in Monterey County. It is 120 miles south of San Francisco, 70 miles south of San Jose and 350 miles north of Los Angeles. Celebrity chef partners, Kurt Grasing and Narsai David, truly created a gem. Fancifully designed in warm hues and modern art work, Grasing’s sets the stage for entertaining that is at once festive and intimate. From friendly and professional service, an award winning wine list and seasonally inspired cocktails to the fresh and sustainable local ingredients are only a few reasons why Grasing’s still receives rave reviews from the press. Just recently, Grasing’s was awarded “Restaurant of the Year” and “Business of the Year” by the Carmel Business Association. Chef Grasing was also honored recently by the American Culinary Federation and received an award for “Chef of the Year”.
