We tried their ice cream and coffee and both were really good. This place get crowded but the service is quick. Worth a try when you are in Carmel

I stopped here twice while visiting Carmel. Everything I tried was delicious. I would recommend trying the soft pretzels. I tried several flavors and they were all delicious. A perfect way to start the day in Carmel. I can’t wait to come back on my...next trip.More

Not to Made to Order - the sandwiches are pre made (confirmed by the Cashier when I questioned her why it was so quick to be served). Was looking forward to the sandwich but totally opposite to what I was expecting. Our first choice of...sandwich was not available so we went with the Mediterranean Tuna Sandwich which was soggy (tomatoes) suggesting it had been wrapped for a while and the outer layer of bread was dry. A traditional bakery would be made to order and have other options such as Focaccia Ciabatta or Panini on offer, not just two pieces of bread bought at the local grocery store. The local gas station or subway would have been cheaper and better option for a quick lunch meal. Over priced for what you get. Maybe they consider themselves "Bakery" due to the pastry on offer and that's where their strength lies, but personally the pastry on show was underwhelming compared to other Bakeries we have been to. Pastry did not look so fresh which is why we considered the sandwich option. Fell into the trap of the shop looking busy so assumed it was popular due to the quality... I was so wrong.More

This is tourist stuff. Pretzels and fake custard (“Bavarian creme”) So disappointing. Not worth waiting in line.

We bought a chocolate dipped macaroon and a chocolate dipped bear claw type confection to take back to our condo. Both were absolutely delicious.

Stopped here one morning and got a baked pretzel, blueberry scone, and a vanilla latte. It was so good I contemplated going back for a cannoli. Loved the shops charm and of course, it’s food! Priced reasonably and located right on Ocean Ave— definitely worth...a visit!More

What a lovely place for a great cup of coffee and delicious baked goods. The staff is very friendly, helpful and professional. They have some outdoor seating which is great. Their coffee is delicious and they have a wonderful array of baked goods. We visited...there several times while we were in Carmel and would definitely go back again!More

The bakery was one of the stops on our food tour and our group enjoyed an excellent cheese cake. The visit was so enjoyable, we went back afterwards to purchase items for later in the day and for our next day's breakfast. It was also...nice to meet the bakery's owner.More

This place had a line out the door on a weekday, and deserves it. Yummy pastries, good coffee. Looks like a lot of locals hang here, which is alway a good sign. In business since 1899, wow!

So many great yummies to pick from!! In the mornings they have breakfast bakery items like danishes and croissants. After the breakfast hour, they bring out the good stuff!! Lobster tails, cannoli, coconut macaroons, Mexican wedding cakes, and so many more wonderful treats! They also...serve coffees, ice cream, sandwiches and salads. So so good!! Enjoy!!More
