We made a reservation a day in advance, and the person asked for inside or outside. I said inside, and the person let us know it was going to very noisy, which I appreciated the heads up, so we picked outside, which is just a patio within the restaurant, but right near the street and the view of the water.... I am a Farmer, and I'm constantly trying to find more restaurants who will buy my produce. I lived in O-side years ago, and moved back to the area within the year and remembered a burger from this place near Frazee Beach Park, in Carlsbad. I found that restaurant, but they no longer have that, whatever it was. So I... More

Great little spot. Good menu selection. Really good food. Staff was friendly. Our server was Scot. We made a reservation, and wanted to eat out on the patio, which was on Carlsbad Blvd. side. Across the street you can see the boardwalk and the ocean. We were able to watch the sunset. This was our last night in town and... More

We started with cocktails and appetizers. The mojito was tasty but weak for $8.75 so I switched to wine. Blackened prawns pretty good but I suggest skipping the crab cakes (mostly breading). Fish and chips were good as was the clam chowder. Very attentive service with a great sunset view. Pet friendly patio--several large dogs joined us for dinner (fine... More

Met here with a lot of friends for happy hour, left slot to be desired. It's a cool beach bar but the food was over priced and not great. The happy hour specials are only $1-$2 dollars off. Overall underwhelming. The view is nice of you have patio seating.

"The Mikes," as these two are fondly referred to by the locals, opened Dini's Bistro in 1987 and it has become a Carlsbad landmark. Co-owners Michael Dini and Michael Arellano continue the heritage established by the Dini brothers- Amerigo, Columbo and Michael Sr., who were the proprietors of San Diego County's oldest bar, McDini's, founded in 1890. The Dini brothers tradition of effervescent hospitality and service to their patrons and community is alive today.
