The food here was very enjoyable though the platter was pricey at $75 which left us hungry and needing to order more food. Whilst the staff were very pleasant and helpful, queuing up to order food was not what you’d expect for the prices here. The outdoor area is lovely but table service would have made the experience much more enjoyable.

Sorry that you feel this way. During this period, we are under staffed and have made adjustments accordingly. Which made us make the decision to pay and order at the counter to ensure service runs smoothly as we are busier than ever. The platter is $75 for two people which has a lot of preparation put into it with all the different elements. We hope your next visit is more enjoyable 🍾

I took 5 of my staff members here for a post lockdown catchup/ lunch on a lovely Spring Monday, everything was just perfect, the service, the drinks, the food! We all couldn’t decide what to order , so we just basically just ordered the whole menu to share. Great portion sizes, fresh & tasty. Very reasonably priced for the quality and size of the dishes. We ordered calamari, arinchini balls, the local cheeses, bread, warm olives, bruschetta & steak sandwiches. The perfect menu for when you’ve actually really come here for the wine and cocktails. We went through the cocktail list, my favourite was the lemonchello one, however the mango one was a close 2nd, 2 of my friends got the pink fairy floss looking one, they were happy as. We finished with a nice chilled rose, fantastic cellar door price @ $25 , presented on a very fancy/cool chillin thing. The ambience was as best it could be when you are limited to such restricted numbers. Great tunes pumpin from a speaker.
The staff! Clearly happy to be back at work, after homeschooling, Able to have a cheeky joke, friendly & v efficient! but what was really a highlight was even though there was a time limit on our table, we were offered to stay a little longer than our original booking. Thank you for the team & staff for making our Monday (our day off) simply fantastic. We have visited numerous times over the years, however not together. We can’t wait to come back.

When you book a table at a winery in the King Valley, or any world class winery region for that matter, you want it to tick several boxes that a standard city restaurant is unable to tick.
Excellent selection of wine (obviously), great food, great service, beautiful atmosphere, a view and feel that you are amongst the vineyards, and the thing that you really are seeking is that little extra something that lets you know that you have ventured into the epicentre of where the wine you are drinking comes from....the vintage if you will.
Well if you are like me, and that’s what you are constantly looking for, then you should make a point of stopping, dining, tasting and enjoying this cracker of a winery.
It ticks every box and you will leave having satiated every winery going desire you have.
The service, despite how busy they were over the Easter long weekend was fast and friendly which from someone who have been an owner/ operator in hospitality for 20 years is extremely hard to achieve. The food and wine was perfect and you can’t of asked for a better vibe than the music playing while the the sun streamed through the trees of their cozy courtyard.
But what truly tipped it over the edge for me was the staff, hospitality is a hard gig, especially nowadays, but they managed to make it look easy. They all looked like not only did they enjoy jobs but they enjoyed serving you on a busy public holiday. Thanks for ticking all the boxes.

While this business advertises a Restaurant it is more a cafe or eatery style experience.
Lines to order your meal at the cash register were long and if you or your guests require another dish or bottle of wine during your meal you best be prepared to line up and wait again mid meal.
Mains were limited 2 basically simple pasta dishes and a $30 hamburger dish.
Non Main Platter for 2 was extremely poor value at $75 for bistro style service.
While young staff were friendly and helpful, apparently "Management staff" were aggressive, arrogant and lacked basic customer service manners, training and insight.
Overall extremely poor eating experience and poor value for money.

Post COVID we have had to make many adjustments and we are trying our best. We are under-staffed and experiencing large crowds. Order and pay as you go has been the only way to make sure service runs smoothly and most people have agreed. We hope your next visit is more enjoyable and p.s we have no such thing as a hamburger on the menu... thank you :)

Booked a family lunch for 1pm today. After lining up for 15 minutes to get in we then had to line up for another 45 minutes to order food and drinks. It didn't get any better
At 3:15pm I asked where our food was. The senior woman on duty didn't care. She seemed to think that it was our fault that there was only one chef on duty.
When the food finally arrived it was not hot and variable in quality. Seems like someone had gone on a maccas run to supplement the chips and replaced the chicken with pear in the chicken Caesar salad.
There were not enough staff and the poor young wait staff were clearly struggling.
This was not a good experience. Food very average and the service was appalling. Management should be ashamed of this.
Don't bother. I am sure that there are many other places that will treat you a lot better and may even apologise.

I had been looking forward to eating here for for a good couple of months. Did the right thing and booked ahead. There's no rush or urgency in taking people's orders. Just a casual lazy afternoon with idle chitchat with their regular favourites (the line moves slowly) this another 25-minute wait. What a a massive massive disappointment. Maybe putting bread and olive oil dip on the table or even the fries we ordered would have been great. No one should be drinking on an empty stomach but heck that might take the chef 20 minutes to prepare so eat before you go. My mum (over 70 years old) and I both left with headaches.

We had lunch at the vineyard restaurant the beginning of July, having pre-booked.
We were seated inside and waited quite a while before we asked a waiter to take our orders. We were then told that we should order and pay at the cash register, which may be the the way to run a pub, but not a restaurant in my opinion. It did say so on the menu, but in smallish type, so we didn't notice. The entrees came fairly promptly, but without side plates. The waiter asked usia we wanted them. Pretty obviously we did, if only for the bread we had ordered. Then we waited for an hour before anyone took notice of us. We weren't in a hurry, so it became a game for us to see how long we would be ignored. The staff, including the person managing the restaurant wandered around [aimlessly?] not making any eye contact, not checking on our needs, not clearing our plates, which had been empty for more than half an hour. Finally there was movement and our mains arrived. I must say that the food was very good indeed. When we had finished we got up and left. No farewell, no one to say thank you to. No one taking any notice of our departure, not even the manageress [owner?]. This is no way to run a restaurant. Good food and wine totally spoiled by ludicrously inattentive and amateurish service and organisation on the part of the owners, combined with very poorly trained wait staff.

The set up was quite pleasant but there were some issues. There was no opportunity to taste the wines which is a negative if they want to sell wine. The platter was over-priced and although the meat was good quality was not special.Service was average. Over all disappointing,

My wife placed the order with the person taking the order and specified Gluten free options as I am Coeliac for the order of Calamari, olives and orecchiette. The person taking the order was also trying to fix the eftpos machine so was not concentrating .My wife and I were looking to share the meal. When the meals were presented they were not prepared as Gluten Free. As such my wife had the Calamari and I had the orecchiette. When offer gluten free options this should be specified and the person admitted her mistake but did not come over and apologise. She left it up to one of the waitresses. As such will not be returning and will not purchase their wines. Watch out if you have dietary concerns as this restaurant does not care!!!!

We visited for Mother’s Day lunch (2 adults and a baby) and were very surprised considering some of the below comments. After ordering at the bar and receiving our drinks, we went outside to take photo’s in the beautiful setting before our food arrived. Food came out really quick which is always a bonus when you have an 8 month old. One of the young waiters came out to inform us that the food had arrived at our table. Food was fresh and hot. Staff are friendly and inviting. Cocktail was amazing. Couldn’t fault the service and at 11am the place was filling up quickly.

What a great stop over on our way to the snow!!
This was our first visit to Sam Miranda in over 18 months and we’re so delighted to be back.
We were greeted by great staff and recommended the Rosato which was delicious, so delicious we took a gorgeous bright pink box of 6 bottles home with us.
The food was amazing, and we loved sharing the tasting plate with the best calamari I’ve had in ages.
Over all a great visit with amazing food and lovely staff, can’t wait to call back in on our way home to Melbourne.

We’ve visited this winery a few (5+) times and have always found the food and service consistent and of a high standard. Some may lament the speed of service but if you’re after fast food there is a McDonalds at Glenrowan just down the road. This winery is made for spending a leisurely lunch and enjoying the unique location. Kids can play on the expansive lawns whilst a number of patrons brought pets.
Wine wise I’ve always enjoyed the Prosecco and the Tempranillo we had at the weekend was delicious. Food wise we shared olives, calamari, chips, steak sandwich, chicken Parma and chicken salad. All yummy. We’ll be back again.

Always such an amazing afternoon at Sam Miranda. The food is of such a high quality and so well presented. I recommend the share platters where you get to taste the best of everything. The platters are set for two people and so filling, I challenge you to get through it all. The Prosecco is amazing and the new Prosecco cocktails are not only great for the eyes but so delicious. Inside or out, an amazing experience.

I booked this winery in December for lunch in January as we were traveling to Wangaratta for 5 nights. When booking, I requested an inside seat which I received an email to confirm. On arrival we were placed outside further away from the cellar door and dining room. Due to the disappointment, we left as the older lady booking customers in was rather short toward us and told us there was no seating inside, so we had no choice but yes, we did (we left).
Double check before you arrive if your seating has been changed. There is a small note on the bottom of the email that they will change seating at any time to suit them.

We've been here a couple of times and again we were not disappointed. We realised that the place was fully booked and understaffed because its so hard to get workers at the moment due to various factors. It's so important to support businesses at the moment and if you have to order at the bar it's a small price to pay.
The wine is excellent and the share platters were fantastic. It's great to sit out under the trees and enjoy and sunny afternoon with friends. We will do it again.
