A visit to The Chakra restaurant is a must when I am in Perth. Once again my family and I were not disappointed. The service you receive is exceptional, the food is absolutely delicious and I have never met more attentive staff. A big thank you to all the staff and management for making your customers feel valued.

This was our fifth time over a few years. It’s fantastic to see this local restaurant endure but the reasons why are simple. Both the food and service is of a very high standard. It is not just the food you order but little extras you wouldn’t find at other restaurants where the proud owners clearly want to teach you about India’s food. My suggestion is a degustation as opposed to the standard a la carte menu items. The range and the presentation of each course is incredible. I’ll definitely return whether it’s with my wife or family or friends. As a side note, the ambiance is very relaxed. Parking has never been an issue. Price is also reasonable considering you’re paying for quality service and food.

Food was good quality and flavors good too, not outstanding but good. However the the prices were very high and the servings very small. Worthy of note was barramundi dish had the 3 tiniest fillets and was $36. Service and decor very nice but . Would we go again, nope!

The Chakra is a fine dining Indian restaurant which is excellent. Service is very good except for one thing (see below). The food choices are great with traditional, modern, and vegan/vegetarian. We had a selection of traditional and vegetarian for our table of four and all dishes were delicious. The meal started with a free appetiser drink and ended with the traditional serving of breath freshener served at the table. Now for the one thing that reduces it from a 5* to 4*. Once seated, we were handed two electronic menus which we had to browse and order from. There were four of us at the table. With no paper menu, we were deprived of the joy of perusing the menu and discussing amongst ourselves. This is not a practice restricted to this restaurant. It is now becoming more common and more annoying with all restaurants and in a few years will be ubiquitous. That does not mean that it is a welcome trend. Just a very annoying trend.

The food is very different to a traditional Indian restaurant. It was great to experience the variety. I had vegan samosas. For the size of the portion it was a little overpriced, hence marking it down slightly. I could not fault the food overall or the service.

I have never written a review before leaving a restaurant, this is the first time. The service was excellent and the food was even better. We had the butter chicken stuffed bread which was divine with a subtle smokiness to it and beautifully spiced. The chicken tuna masala and chicken biryani were excellent too. We cannot wait to come back and explore more of their menu as we didn’t divert from crowd favourite dishes.

A Sunday evening for a pre Birthday meal saw us venture down from the Hills to try out this new find. Sure wasnt to be disappointed. A very stylish venue tastefully decorated in a modern style. This was also reflective in the menu with a lot of unknown adventurous options. Started with 2 entrees, Duck& Potato Bonda, and Butter Chicken were absolutely superb. Followed by a shared main of the Lamb Rogan Josh, Rice and Naan. Having recently tried a number of overseas restaurants this place certainly left a very impressive reaction. It is now on our go to place for such a rewarding experience.

We ate here again last night and were not disappointed. The service was reliably attentive, and the food was delicious, with a good selection of meat, vegetarian and vegan options. It was my birthday and they gifted me with a lovely birthday surprise. Keep it up Chakra, we will be back again with our friends.

I went to Chakra with colleagues from work for Diwali and most of the group were Indian. The menu was small, and looked interesting albeit overpriced. The menus were on mini tablets which in itself was pretentious. I ordered the Pot Set Chicken Biryani which sounded interesting enough, however when it came out it was still cold inside and no heated through, so I sent it back. Everyone else got their meals and were eating whilst I was waiting for my food to re-arrive, thankfully I also ordered the Peshwari Naan so ate that, and it was very nice too. My second biryani finally arrived after everyone had almost finished their food and this time it was hot and not like any biryani I had eaten before and not in a good way. Again thank you naan for being delicious. It was full of raw nuts, sultanas and what tasted like cranberries which did not appeal to me as I normally love a biryani. When I left to pay the bill, there was no apology, and no offer of recompense like a free beer or naan. Some of the others commented that they too did not like their food either. I tried the Butter Chicken which was not like any Butter Chicken I have tried before, it tasted full of cloves, and had I ordered it would not have been able eat it. Chakra tries to do fine dining but fails dismally, which is a shame.

<>Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff, food tasty but tiny portions and very expensive. Frozen shop bought naam is better than what was served. I eat Indian cuisine out a lot, so feel a fair comment. Service was dreadful, orders didn't come out as ordered so first order on our table came out last and others almost finished their meal before mine arrived. Drinks order all mixed up, people not getting what they ordered and given to wrong person

Our friends had recommended Chakra to us and while staying in the city we decided to experience it for ourselves. What a beautiful restaurant it is, nicely decorated with soft lighting and traditional Indian artifacts adding to the atmosphere. When we were seated we noticed a card with my name on it and a welcome message, a nice touch which makes you feel special. The food is delicious, generous servings with a modern twist. We ate the soft shell crab, butter chicken special curry and the wild caught barramundi with Madras curry sauce. There are little complimentary treats before and during the meal which adds to the experience. The service is such that you feel as if you’re part of the family, it’s exceptional and if it’s a special occasion you will be treated to a special treat which is a lot of fun. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough, it’s a jewel in Inglewood and we can’t wait to go back with our friends. Thank you for looking after us and for the wonderful dining experience.

Amazing Flavours & great service We thoroughly enjoyed chakra. The service was really friendly. The menu has a good mix of traditional staples and specialties that are a bit different. The duck entree was memorable. Our 12 y.o. Was with us & really enjoyed the butter chicken. Ordering via the mini tablets was something he enjoyed helping with too.

I love this place. I chose to spend my birthday dinner here with my family and even with fussy kids they loved the food. I can not fault the food or the service. It's Indian food at its best. They'll even sing happy birthday to you and put a turban in your head. Can't wait to go back.

So after reading the reviews for this place, my expectations were pretty high, but wow, did they exceed them! Right from the start all the staff, especially the owner, were wonderful, they really made you feel welcome and even though the place was packed (like totally full, we had to wait over 30 minutes for a table) they seemed genuinely happy to have you there. They really do have such an incredible menu it's hard to pick what to choose. In the end we went for the onion and spinach fritters and the pani puris. Both were delicious, the fritters only had a little drizzle of the tamarind sauce on them when they arrived at the table but when i asked if i could purchase a side of this for the rest of them it was brought out free of charge which i really appreciated. Those pani puris though. I could literally eat nothing else for the rest of my life and i'd be a happy lady. For mains we shared the chicken tikka masala and the lamb biryani pie. The tikka was tasty but completely overshadowed by the biryani pie which was just unreal, so much flavor and so much creativity! We really wanted to order desert because of how amazing the rest of the meal was, but we we're already slipping into a food coma so opted for the bill instead. Having visited Sauma in Northbridge last month I can confidently say that Chakra wins hands down on ever level (apart from maybe the cocktails) and i cant wait to go back. A word of advice, be careful with the Indian lollies they give you at the end. I had some of the rose infused date mix, and after all the lovely flavors in my mouth throughout the night, this wasn't the one i would have chosen to leave with :) Well done guys!!
