We visited CUT on August 3rd, to celebrate my birthday. This was a really special treat, and it was even better than we could have imagined. We turned up on a whim, with no reservation and were sat immediately (though as it filled up straight away, I suspect we just got lucky). Our servers were extremely attentive and went above and beyond, bringing cuts of meat and wine to the table to share their wide range of knowledge, with a new server each time to bring drinks, desserts, bread service, sides, mains. They also brought out a tray of birthday desserts, which was so unexpected but really lovely. The food itself was spectacular, especially the Wagyu. Best steak ever! While this was definitely a pricey meal, totalling $500 for 3 people, it was absolutely worth it. Would definitely recommend for a one-off special celebratory meal, we will never forget it.

Our April dinner during our Los Angeles anniversary weekend at 1* Cut by Wolfgang Puck was as good as I remember from 2019. I couldn’t resist again and had the 8 oz A5 Mizaki Wagyu steak (an extra $150 for the 2 additional oz) — and this remains the only place outside Japan where I’ve had a proper Wagyu steak as amazing as in Japan. My husband’s “regular” 8 oz filet was slightly overcooked, but they immediately took it back on us mentioning it and replaced it quickly with a delicious (if perhaps slightly undercooked) and superior replacement. Not too shabby at all. The chef sent out his famous whipped potatoes on the house. The bottle of 2007 Abreu Thorevilos we brought perfectly paired with both steaks — but really stood out with my Wagyu. We were too stuffed to bother with dessert, but the chef sent out a little sampler for us anyway. Service was so friendly and fabulous yet again. I already can’t wait to return yet again. This still is my favorite steak restaurant in the U.S.A.

Cut by Wolfgang Puck has become my favorite steak house. It exceeded all my expectations. Food and service were outstanding. The butter lettuce salad and oysters were very fresh and tasty. For the sides we ordered creamed spinach with fried organic egg, field mushrooms with shishito peppers, and tempura onion rings; for the main dishes we ordered Loup de Mer, 12 oz Australian wagyu New York Strip, and 9 oz American gold wagyu Eye of Rib Eye. Every dish was prepared to perfection. For desert we tried the dark chocolate soufflé with the espresso ice cream/chocolate sauce which was truly delicious. I also highly recommend the old fashioned and Xiang li from the hand crafted cocktails menu.

Wolfgang used to know how to cook a steak. But the expansion of the empire has compromised the food and service for sure. Firstly, The Cut decor / room is dated, cheap looking and doesn’t reflect the prestige of being located in one of the finest hotels in L.A. Sadly the food experience did not make up for it. Our steaks were sorely over cooked. When you send it back and you sit there and all your expensive side dishes are getting cold and are stone cold by the time the replacement steak arrives, it really sours the experience. By that point the steak sauce is cold too. Disappointing. Then they forgot to deduct the steak that was added to the tab as the replacement steak. So you have you check each item. Oddly, it was the starters that we enjoyed. But wha5 the restaurant is supposed to be known for, great cooked steak, did not work out for us.

The dinner at CUT was the worst experience we could have had…especially on my wife's actual 50th birthday. The dinner made my wife cry and leave the restaurant. WE could have gone anywhere. They should lose their Michelin star rating for service and quality of food. Embarrassingly bad and that remembrance of her 50th will never be replaced. In fact, we walked over to AVRA Ristorante and the staff was so kind after the CUT dinner and saw her crying, they comped her wine and dessert and sang happy birthday. They made her night special unlike CUT staff. We were guests of the Beverly Wilshire Hotel where CUT resides.

Okay so I'm going to preface this review with the fact the food was GREAT!!! In fact one of the best steaks I have EVER had. Now, the greeter was utterly uninterested and looked like she would rather be anywhere else on the planet than there and she looked like this for hours. The artwork was filthy dirty. It was visibly clear that the glass had only been wiped over as high as they could reach and the top third filthy with dust. The tartare shells are amazing and the fries just as good. Cheese bread yummy and the wine options varied. Staff absent - you'll struggle to get that ice, glass of water or refill you ordered 19mins ago.....

Dear TheLuxeCritic, I am of course delighted to read you had the "best steaks", "amazing" tartare and "yummy" cheese bread. I will be certain to share your kind words with Chef Drew Rosenberg. On the other hand, I am dismayed to read about the service you received. I have flagged this along with your notes about the artwork to our General Manager of CUT Beverly Hills, Charles, who would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you. May I kindly ask that you reach out to him directly at charles.hueston@fourseasons.com? Kind regards, Reed Kandalaft Regional Vice President and General Manager Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel

This restaurant was good but it was not a five star experience. We ordered the bread service and it did not come with nearly enough butter and our server did not come back while we were eating so we could not request more. I ordered the eye of ribeye and it was an ok steak. I had trouble cutting through it and it was veiny but the flavor was nice. I’ve had better steaks elsewhere at a lower price point. The banana cream pie dessert was the highlight of the meal. The service was ok, but our waters often went empty before being refilled.

Lovely service and a great soundtrack add to the ambiance of this restaurant but the place was absolutely dead on the night, despite being packed just a few hours earlier. The steak was fine but it needed the Hawaiian salt that was provided. It was too well done when I asked for medium well but I didn’t mind too much. However, I definitely expected better given the ridiculous prices. Also, I am nitpicking with this one but there was this noticeable stain on the ceiling that really stuck out to me.

Easily one of the best meals i have had. The level of service and the standard of the food were absolutely outstanding. I'm not sure wether Chef Wolfgang's presence on the night elevated the restaurants performance but something was working. I would come back to LA just to eat here. Truly fantastic!

the atmosphere is a little cold and sterile, which isn’t a good start. The complete opposite to the CUT bar which is great. The food is good and the wine list is extensive but is hugely overpriced. We were staying at the Beverly Wilshire and as we love Spago we wanted to try CUT, but we were somewhat underwhelmed.

We had dinner in the hotel one night … and this was a great decision. What a wonderful dinner!!! Probably one of the best we ever had. The food was just excellent … especially the filet and the NY Strip. Very well prepared, perfect temperature of the meat. The mushroom side was fantastic. A really great place to go for any dinner. Super!!!

Lovely atmosphere, average food for high end restaurant. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great for what they charge. All staff was awesome, friendly, attentive. Happy we went but don’t need to go back again, maybe for cocktails but not for steak/seafood dinner.

As good as it gets. Cut has one of the best menus and food in Beverly Hills. That says a lot considering the city it's in. Located in the famous Beverly Wilshire Hotel and across from Rodeo Drive. Try and top that. George Vreeland Hill

We had my husband’s birthday dinner. It was amazing. The food was delicious & the service was exceptional. I had the best Branzino ever. My husband enjoyed his rib cap steak. Also, the toffee pudding was outstanding. We definitely will go back.

Beverly Hills
Beverly Hills began as a modest village years ago and today you can still feel its small town origins, even though it has become a major tourist attraction and business center for the entertainment industry. This town lives up to its reputation as an area full of designer retail stores and residential streets lined with mansions and palm trees. Inside the commercial center of Beverly Hills, along Rodeo Drive, droves of tourists peak into ultra-luxurious boutiques hoping to catch a glimpse of someone famous. Off of Rodeo Drive however is where some of the most affluent Angelenos occupying the streets of Beverly Hills come for leisurely meals, power lunches and beauty treatments.
