I have always wanted to visit the Polo Lounge after hearing so many people including celebrities rave about it and we were not disappointed. It was our 10th Wedding Anniversary so I emailed ahead of time & requested a booth. We got it and as we walked it we were greeted with a Happy Anniversary. We were seated at a booth and the waiter told us that this used to be the favourite table of Elizabeth Taylor. I love old Hollywood so i was all over that. The restaurant has a smart yet relaxed atmosphere we ended up chatting to 3 lovely ladies at the next table. The food was delicious & service impeccable. When the dessert came out they had gone to the trouble of writing Happy Anniversary in chocolate on the serving dish. The day after I got a personal thank you for visiting email from the restaurant. It’s small touches like that that really make the difference. If I’m ever in LA again I will definitely return.

Polo lounge is a Beverly Hills icon and it oozes old school glamour. The whole place is absolutely beautiful. I visited for breakfast on a quiet day and my server was beyond friendly and you could tell he had been there a long time and loved his job

The Polo Lounge is always on our list of favorite restaurants when we are in town visiting. The food and service are always on point and we always enjoy going to Bar Nineteen 12 beforehand to hear live music and enjoy cocktails. I love the salmon and gem salad. The signature chocolate soufflé is incredible every time as well.

First of all, a very small corner of the lounge is available for a drink. The outdoor terrace is intended for those who are going to dine. It’s true that at 5:30 p.m. some people arrived for dinner. Please note that the hotel's other bar is closed on Sundays and Mondays. And yes !!! Even though the hotel has 5 stars. Unwelcoming, dark but we decide to stay because even if the place does not enchant us, the British style is relaxing. We order 2 non-alcoholic fruit juice cocktails. 2 glasses "like in the canteen" or almost, 2 straws and absolutely nothing more in terms of decoration. On a table next to it an assortment of chips, olives, peanuts. We told ourselves that since we had taken fruit juice, we were not entitled to the calories of chips and peanuts. Why not ! On the other hand, it had been a good 5 minutes since we had finished our drinks and about 30 minutes since we had been served, a waiter brought us the appetizers apologizing for the delay. Frankly pitiful. We told him it was too late. We were waiting for the bill. When the waiter asked us if everything had gone well we commented to him. He didn't know what to answer. Nothing serious in itself but 2 juices for 48 dollars (excluding tips) also poorly served, in such a cramped place.... we won't come back that's for sure

We visited the Polo Lounge for dinner having made a long standing reservation. Our reservation was for 20.30. The restaurant was full at this time and we were advised to return in ten minutes and we would be seated. Not a great start ~ what is the point in making a reservation if it cannot or will not be honoured? Returning ten minutes later, as advised, the host then told us there was still no table available and we were asked to wait at the bar. Whilst the barman was friendly and professional, the bar area needed a good clean as there were used straws lying about and food on the floor. At around 21.10 (40 minutes after our arrival and reservation time!) we were finally seated at a booth table in the restaurant. Unfortunately we were then ignored… the waiter in our section was clearly unable to manage the 4 or 5 tables he had, as we heard others complaining about incorrect drinks and being unable to attract attention in order to settle the bill. At around 21.30, one full hour after arriving (and by this point very hungry) we decided to cut our losses and leave. I have never before had cause to walk out of a restaurant, especially not one purporting to be a place of quality and tradition (and you will see from my other reviews we are regular diners in “nice” restaurants). AVOID! There are much better places to spend your time and money in LA.

Went with my family we were 4. Waiter came after 25 minutes to take order. Didn’t ask what to drink he directly took our choices of food. I have lactose intolerance so asked if risotto has cheese he said he Thinks it has! Didn’t do the effort to ask or to help me choose. Ignoring that intolerances can be fatal or serious. This is the first time i face this indifference towards my intolerance in a restaurant! We remembered that he didn’t ask about drinks so called another waiter to order drinks! They served us the food after half an hour! Food was ok! (Took the seafood salad, didn’t want to take chances since he couldn’t answer questions regarding ingredients, it was the safest choice one menu). End of meal we decided to leave a poor tip to show our dissatisfaction with service! They brought visa machine that doesn’t allow you to over ride or choose tip. Had to pinch a 75 USD tip. Over all experience was mediocre. Slow service arrogant ignorant waiters. They should do better!

Average brunch at best - crab Benedict was over cooked and no memorable dishes. Outdoor seating was pretty and much better than the dated and weathered interior. Service was terrible - over 30 minutes between certain courses, wrong dishes brought to our table and had to ask for check Strange seeing people be turned away for “ripped” jeans but Pajamas are acceptable? Save the $150/person after tax and tip and there’s much better food and people watching these days than the Polo Lounge at BH.

This is a tourist type place, foodies will be sorely disappointed. We got a nice seat outside. There were other customers in sweats, while European tourists were dressed smartly. You won't see any celebrities here, if you were hoping for that. It's mainly tourists and phonies. The food is hit and miss, and not accurately described on menu. The lobster enchiladas had excellent flavor, but had potato in them as a cheap filler, not mentioned on menu. My Nicoise Salad had some weird ingredients also not mentioned like zucchini sticks. The service was not horrible, but I would expect much better here. It is VERY expensive. Waiter told us valet was $15.00 with validation. When we got car back the valet said it was $20.00, excessive. I don't mind spending the money the quality is there and have visited a number of Michelin star restaurants. If you have never been then, have lots of cash to waste and are not a gourmet, go ahead, we won't be back anytime soon.

A night to remember! When we arrived for our reservation, we had to wait a bit and headed over to the 1912 bar for a few drinks. We had a great conversation with the bartender who gave us excellent tips for drinks, dinner and even things to do in the area. Once seated, in a romantic booth with partial privacy, our service was exceptional. We felt just as attended to as any of the other probably wealthy, famous people there. The Pretty in Pink cocktail was as tasty as it was beautiful. The McCarthy Salad was excellent. We had Chicken Parmesan and the Filet Mignon for dinner. They were both so, so delicious. Even the bread basket had us smitten. We had sorbet and chocolate cake for dessert. The presentation of each was gorgeous. The meal was well timed and again, our service was top notch. In my life I have about 6-7 meals that I recall in great detail with fond memories and this is now on that list. We intend to make this a must do whenever we visit LA. Thank you!

Upon walking up the immaculate entrance of the Beverly Hills Hotel I had a good idea what to expect but those expectations were far exceeded after lunch. Obviously the food is prepared incredibly well but it’s the details that set this experience beyond anywhere else I have been too. I work in the industry (specifically hotels) here in Boston, so I pride myself on exceptional service. Alex my server was incredibly gracious and attentive. I left that day with a renewed sense hospitality. From the drinks to start and ordering Pellegríno offering if I had a lemon/lime preference is next level anticipatory. The steak tartare is beautifully prepared with the toast points to accompany the dish and neatly placed in a neatly folded napkin. They don’t miss an opportunity. Was not expecting the tuna tartare compliments of the chef, my sincerest thanks to Chef. Probably the best tuna tartare on the west coast. However the exclamation point on the afternoon was when the after lunch cappuccino came out and not only were the sugars neatly arranged. The polished spoon or even the rock candy stirrer. It was the logo of the hotel I worked (at the time) pressed into the foam made me feel so incredibly special and one of kind. The staff look at all the details in everything wether obvious or beyond and ensure no opportunity to go above and beyond is missed. Alex was an MVP that afternoon. My only regret was not being able to enjoy the dessert I ordered as I had given to a less than fortunate (on my way back to my hotel) individual to treat himself. However this is just another reason to go back and I look forward to dining there again on my next trip to LA. To everyone at the Polo Lounge, Beverly Hills Hotel thank you very much for making this trip so memorable.

We arrived from Australia and were advised to wait for a table which took over 30 minutes to prepare while reception staff of 3 people were talking between each other, not work related. I asked if we could sit in available tables outside and were advised we needed to book and the wait was over two weeks. Then when our table was ready, we waited a long time to be served. I left the restaurant and would not recommend due to the poor service by the reception staff.

We were in LA recently and hubby wanted to eat here on a Saturday night. No chance I thought, but the hotel managed to get a booking for dinner! Felt special walking up the red carpet. All the staff we interacted with were just brilliant. Friendly and professional. Credit to the hotel. We had a female server and I cant praise her highly enough and forgot her name sadly, as we were there in March and this is May! But on finding out I ate gluten free food, she pointed out what I could eat on the menu. They went off menu to make my main course which is greatly appreciated. We would love to eat here again but its quite far from Scotland but one day!

Arriving at 830pm on a Saturday night, this old school venue was pumping. An older crowd, couples, family and large groups. The service was steady (just right), Food was just delicious with the highlight being the Branzino. Good wine-list too. The bar was very busy with patrons waiting for tables.

My husband and I booked a three night stay at The Beverly Hills Hotel to celebrate our recent wedding and we booked a table at the Polo Lounge on our first night. We were so looking forward to a romantic meal, but boy did it turn south quickly. We ordered starters, one of which was the crab cake. It cost $40 and it was rubbery and cold. I politely sent it back. Our mains were mediocre. My husband enjoyed his pasta enough, but my salmon was underwhelming. We didn't feel like staying for dessert, so we signed the cheque. Once they'd picked it up, the "manager" came storming over to our table demanding why I hadn't left more money for a tip (I left 15%, despite the food being underwhelming, because the staff had been polite). He told me I was harassing him and made a huge scene in-front of his mortified staff. After he stormed off, never to be seen again, his staff told me that they had no idea why he had behaved in such a way and that they were incredibly embarrassed on his behalf. The next time I want to spend $5,000 on a three night stay at a hotel - I will NOT be coming back here, thanks to the behaviour of the manager at the Polo Lounge and the poor quality of food.

As Beverly Hills as it gets. One of those places in LA where everyone’s looking around trying to spot celebrities. There’s usually one or two at least. Not sure why since the food is just ok. The service is on point and the wait staff is very experienced. I guess that’s enough reason to pay $150-200 a head for eggs and coffee.

Beverly Hills
Beverly Hills began as a modest village years ago and today you can still feel its small town origins, even though it has become a major tourist attraction and business center for the entertainment industry. This town lives up to its reputation as an area full of designer retail stores and residential streets lined with mansions and palm trees. Inside the commercial center of Beverly Hills, along Rodeo Drive, droves of tourists peak into ultra-luxurious boutiques hoping to catch a glimpse of someone famous. Off of Rodeo Drive however is where some of the most affluent Angelenos occupying the streets of Beverly Hills come for leisurely meals, power lunches and beauty treatments.
