Guerilla Cafe is the opposite of all the corporate cafes around it. It has the funky artist vibe and has been tucked in comfortably for years. It is known for great smaller high-quality plates of comfort food and fantastic coffee. Grab a seat at the...More

Small cozy place, excellent coffee and sidewalk seating. Had the polenta and eggs and a fresh waffle with fruit. Both plates were excellent. Would highly recommend this place. Breakfast serve till 2 PM! Menu selection was just right and a return visit is in order...More

Went here for breakfast, which was fairly average at best. Ordered the 12 oz coffee and it came in about a 10 oz cup, if it was full to the top, which it wasn't. So I probably had 8oz of coffee. When I enquired about...More

I obviously prefer Guerilla Cafe to their Neighbor next door if anything simply to get away from the throngs of Cal students who flock to fills for commercial pourovers but opt instead for guerilla inspired coffee goodness with latin romance flair. I quite like their...More

Absolutely the best waffles anywhere. And the atmosphere is great. If you're not ordering a waffle, the portions are small, but everything is carefully prepared. Oh and the spicy mocha is great. Drink it out of a bowl like they do in France.

I've been taken here twice and really enjoyed the food and relaxed ambiance. This time I had a breakfast croissant egg sandwich, fruit, and tea. So good. It's in a nice boutique neighbourhood .

Popped into the Guerilla Cafe, yesterday for a quick breakfast. Had the croissant egg sandwich. It was well cooked, hot and fresh. Lots of young uns sitting over their coffee and lap-tops. A few outside tables available to watch Berkeley walk by.

It's a bit unobtrusive but it seems that the regulars sometimes make it difficult to get a seat. Slightly alternative vibe, friendly service and simple but tasty food (polenta!). Nice for people watching, too. And just a block away from Chez Panisse :).

I was wandering around on Sunday morning (my first stay in Berkeley in many years) looking for a place to get breakfast. There are other (larger) places around but this one has some local color to it. Ordered at the counter and they bring it...More

Arrived with family for lunch. Not much room in the cafe but we managed to move two empty tables together after some wrangling with the staff (which was sparse). Grabbed some menus, decided on our orders (menu options also sparse), and waited in line...and waited...finally...More

We're so sorry to hear you didn't get a chance to give us a real try! Our cafe is a rather small space and fills up quite a bit for the breakfast rush. Unfortunately, some things on our menu tend to dwindle during that 8-11...More
