We visited Corso twice in about a four-month period; we were trying a range of Italian restaurants in the Berkeley-Oakland area, trying to find which we liked, and which we could skip in the future. Our first dinner was in March. We had reserved a table. We were promptly seated. I was immediately pleased to see that this restaurant was... More

We've eaten here three times in the past year. We'd skipped it for a long time, because it always looked packed and we tend not to plan dinners out in advance. The first visit was so nice, we've come back twice in the past year. This is quite an endorsement because we enjoy our own cooking so much that we... More

With friends we came for dinner once in early June...our meals were so good that we were back within the month! Salads are large enough for sharing, the pasta dishes are a nice size, not too much, and the desserts are very good as well!

My friend wanted to take me to dinner and asked what food I craved, when I said Italian he suggested this place. We got a reservation and were seated at the last free table upon arrival. The cocktails were good and inventive, reasonably good value wine list. The pate was excellent, the trotters interesting. I had a skirt steak and... More

Not only great food, but the service was impeccable. Wonderful wines by the glass with a half glass option which all restaurants should have!

Hats off to a restaurant that ventures beyond the predictable. Let's face it, the menus of most American Italian restaurants could be interchanged with one another and the one would not notice the difference--forms of noodles are the same, generally, tasteless domestic pasta is used, the sauces are the same, and it is only when you go to a restaurant... The Italian food and ingredient quality is among your better options if you want to eat in Berkeley. The cocktails are a bit on the sweet side, service is usually excellent and the menu has the right amount of offerings to ensure high quality ingredients are used. Portions are appropriately sized- which means small to medium sized Italian sized servings... More

When you open and scan a menu to find Rabbit Saltimbocca you know you are in a restaurant fit for foodies. Located in North Berkeley close to downtown Trattoria Corso (cousin to the excellent Rivoli) we found it just right for a pre-Berkeley Rep theatre date. One could easily make a meal of the appetizers with house made Mortadella and... More

I agree with the previous review that portions look small, though extremely well seasoned and flavorful. Went with a party of seven. Had a bunch of appetizers/small plates. The Salume was fantastic. I had the bucatini, which is essentially a combination of the classical sicilian mix of raisins, hot peppers, pine nuts and parmesan. Rich and flavorful (and a dish... More
