This restaurant has a very good atmosphere. The food unfortunately was only OK. For appetizers the caprese salad was not made from Mozzarella di Bufala ! (unheard of in Italy :-) The three pastas we ordered where fine, but definitely not great. We ended up paying $180 for three including a carafe of wine, definitely not cheap.

I have been here several times over the last few years and this restaurant is always good. Starting with the salumi platter, which on this night was a mix of fried pork rinds, prosciutto, coppa, pate on toast, and more, then progressing to the terrific salads and finally to the main courses: cavatelli, tagliatelle (come on... teach your wait staff... Really superb dining experience in Berkeley - terrific freshly made pasta, sauces and charcuterie and a good wine list to match. The beef sugo was amazing, and the home made salamis were also excellent. Buzzy dining room and really friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Definitely worth many return visits.

We were a party of four on Friday, August 5th looking for a restaurant for dinner before an 8 PM event. I could not find any time that fit into our schedule when talking to the hostess, India on Thursday, who had called responding to the message I had left that day. She was extremely helpful and accommodating and was... More

Seeking a restaurant at short notice, with a good review we wandered in. Staff courteous and helpful. Limited range of food which we prefer. Lasagne superb and prawn spaghetti good. Starter salad huge which we shared. Chocolate pudding so light.

This is the typical a-la-mode type of restaurant where they pretend to serve real Italian meals and they end-up losing their image. Simple things like salumi appetizer make you understand how they work: if there are 4 guests at the table you do not serve 2 small slices of prosciutto, 2 of coppa and 2 of Bologna. At least one... We visited Corso twice in about a four-month period; we were trying a range of Italian restaurants in the Berkeley-Oakland area, trying to find which we liked, and which we could skip in the future. Our first dinner was in March. We had reserved a table. We were promptly seated. I was immediately pleased to see that this restaurant was... More

We've eaten here three times in the past year. We'd skipped it for a long time, because it always looked packed and we tend not to plan dinners out in advance. The first visit was so nice, we've come back twice in the past year. This is quite an endorsement because we enjoy our own cooking so much that we... More

With friends we came for dinner once in early June...our meals were so good that we were back within the month! Salads are large enough for sharing, the pasta dishes are a nice size, not too much, and the desserts are very good as well!

My friend wanted to take me to dinner and asked what food I craved, when I said Italian he suggested this place. We got a reservation and were seated at the last free table upon arrival. The cocktails were good and inventive, reasonably good value wine list. The pate was excellent, the trotters interesting. I had a skirt steak and... More
