Superior service & outstanding when booking over the phone as I booked in a surprise dinner date for my parents. They were seated exactly were I requested & staff went out of they’re way to make them feel special as it was they’re wedding anniversary. I requested not to let them pay, as I had pre organised for everything to be billed to myself (so my parents could be treated) having me not being there as I chauffeured them to the restaurant for a drop off/pick up. My parents had a fantastic evening & one to remember as flowers where also requested & sent there for the booking. Truely an awesome restaurant. A MASSIVE THANK YOU to all the staff & owner. Kindest regards, Daniel Air

We are compelled to write following the most magnificent NYE spent at the Windy Point Restaurant. Whilst we have had the pleasure of dining with you several times before at both eateries we were still absolutely blown away by the fabulous food, drink & exemplary service. We were a table of 2 seated by the window & our servers were simply outstanding. I have coeliac disease & have a GF/DF diet all of which was handled beautifully & with minimal fuss. The drink choices were great & although my husband is a non drinker we both felt the evening was fair & reasonable value for money as the food & service was so amazing. Please pass on our grateful thanks to all of the kitchen & backroom staff as well as wait/bar staff & everyone else involved with a magnificent New Years Eve. Until we dine with you again Many Thanks & Kind Regards Nuala & John Burns

Of course, the view is spectacular but the food, service and wine list are also amazing. A three-course meal features many delicious 'tastings' each item was prepared and presented perfectly. You can choose your main dish and the dessert(s) finish the experience nicely. Great wine list, too. Considering everything, a perfect night that I would have been glad to pay twice as much for.

Restaurant manager was nice. We were running late and couldn’t get hold of the restaurant to advise them. Apparently they turned their phone off, which isn’t helpful when they advise you they will only hold your table for 15 minutes. Maybe they should address that because it was stressful trying to contact them when we knew we should be 20 mins late due to an accident on one of the main routes to the freeway We were then shown to our table which was a lovely table with a gorgeous view. We were asked what water we would like. Starter came almost straight away. We hadn’t been asked what we wanted to drink or if we required wine. The waiter was told by other staff to bring out water ( which he obviously didn’t appreciate) and from then on in he was off hand. He came back with the wine after taking our order. When we ordered another bottle of wine he just tipped on top of the wine we already had in our glasses. He never asked us about our choice of main course and said we should of told the restaurant, to which I said “ you didn’t bother to ask us” . The waiter ruined my birthday meal with his off hand manner. The rest of the staff were great and the food was lovely. They did bring me out a lovely dessert and had pipped “ Happy Birthday “ which was very thoughtful of them. I would go there again but would insist on another waiter, which I should of done that night but didn’t think too. Shame really he ruined my romantic birthday meal. I will be emailing the restaurant to give them a description of the waiter and hopefully we can come to an agreement because the $200 voucher was a birthday gift from my mum, who is also very disappointed because she recommended Windy Point to us and feels very let down. I will leave another review about the outcome of this situation. The problem is that although the food was lovely and the views were outstanding, the rude waiter ruined all of this with his attitude and behaviour. Shame on him. If he doesn’t like his job, then might I suggest he changes it Thank for reading

We celebrated a combined birthday/ anniversary with dinner at Windy Point, Summer Tasting menu with paired wines. We unfortunately had an 8.30pm sitting. We had a window seat with a nice view of the city lights. We enjoyed the food and wine. The service was haphazard and we were rushed through the meal, with wine for the following course being poured before the previous glass was finished and nowhere near enough time between courses. We stretched out our dessert, but the meal could easily have been over and done with by 9.45pm, hardly the relaxing, enjoyable meal we looked forward to, and at $125.00 per person, we were very disappointed. Staff very obviously wanted to finish up, despite telling us the restaurant closed at 11.00pm. We will definitely not be back, there are so many good restaurants in Adelaide with far better service.

The restaurant bizarrely don’t answer the phone, you are directed to the website, a first sign that they lack an understanding of the human factor.. On arrival we noticed a Very nice inner door however outer door looked like that of a public toilet. Bad smell sitting at the counter of the little cocktail bar and leaking toilet urinal didn’t give a great first impression. An odd mix of seating at the cocktail area didn’t make it a comfortable location, the seating and layout seemed like an after thought. Felt old and a bit in need of a clean. Bartender cool and distant didn’t seem like they really wanted to be there but drinks were fair. The Woman ( mid to late 20s ) who seated us was glum, cold, unfriendly, disinterested and bother-line annoyed that we were not ready to order when she came back and we asked for another minute.. on ordering the steak she was instantly gone and we didn’t get the opportunity to request how we would like the steak done, it was good but a little more wet and undercooked than I would have liked. Asian gentleman who brought us our bill made most emphasis on the fact that they are closing. Despite the wait on some courses.. disinterested if we enjoyed the meal. Why cram in so many tables close together? Makes for a claustrophobic experience. Odd menu configuration. You get to choose 90pp or 135pp with paired wine however if you want steak you add $17.5 if you want desert selection you add $7.5? Just looks disingenuous, people who go out fine dining are looking for an experience that essential fact bizarrely doesn’t seem to be understood by whoever manages the restaurant Over head spots were too bright to allow you to see the view at night. An unfortunate lack of attention to detail considering that’s the draw for the establishment. Impression was that Staff couldn’t care less if we return, I doubt I will bother despite some excellent dishes from the chief… Whoever is managing the staff needs to move on, the experience was sub par and despite Adelaide being like a small town I think it’s reasonable to expect a higher standard for $400. A largely unhappy bunch was our impression…

We are frequent visitors of Windy Point Restaurant. This time we had the set menu. It was $75 per head with a $10 extra charge for the Chateaubriand and $7 for the Chocolate Melange. The food was delicious as it always is, however the Chateaubriand was not worth the extra $10. It was extremely small compared to the Lamb my husband ordered. We were taken to our table late and felt as though we were rushed through our food. Our sitting was at 8:30pm. At 11pm we were told we needed to leave as the restaurant had a policy to be closed due to a Covid 19 policy. My husband and his friend were still finishing drinks. I would eat here again but the service this time was average and needs to improve.

Had the 5 course dinner here. The setting itself is fantastic with great views over Adelaide, the bay and the always spectacular sunsets. They maximise this with the west facing restaurant with maximal use of the windows. That said, I was left underwhelmed by the food. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad. However, a few days after being there, I'm struggling to remember what I was actually served. It certainly wasn't a menu where any course sticks out in my mind and I'd be telling people I must have it. On the other hand it wasn't bad either, so I wasn't left feeling "I didn't like that". Very much middle of the road in food. Compared to other competing tasting menus at similar prices in Adelaide, I was left feeling a bit "meh"! The decor is in need of vast modernisation. It felt like it hadn't been updated since the 1980s- big armchairs, wide tables, dark veneer doors, deep carpet, etc. Again, it was all in good repair but just felt dated.

From the moment we walked in, you just knew you were going to have a simply wonderful evening, to be greeted by professional staff, nothing was too much trouble, from requesting an explanation of some of the amazing menu dishes, to taking group photo's, your staff were an absolutely outstanding asset to you, hats off to the chef and kitchen staff, the tasting menu was to die for, As the sun went down over the city of Adelaide, and the lights came on it truly is a magical view. Thank you for making our very special anniversary meal one to remember - oh and the chocolate desert.... Devine.

We did the feed me menu with paired wines. Overall, we felt very rushed. Within half an hour of sitting down, they were clearing our 2nd meal from the table. At some points our wines were overlapped or we didn’t have a wine when our food was served. It may sound minor, but it’s hard to appreciate what you’re being told of the wine being served when you still are finishing a wine from the dish prior. Our server, though nice, did not care for small talk. In fact other than asking how we are when first walking into the restaurant, the rest of it was asking which wine or what main we would like. As diners who had never been there before, I did expect a bit more hospitality especially when we could hear conversations between diners and servers at other tables. We wore coats given the weather but no one offered to take them despite having a cloak room. It’s a million dollar view but the restaurant seems outdated; both of our chairs had holes in them, one out of 2 of the toilets in the ladies room were out of use, but perhaps it may have just been our bad luck. The food was nice however slightly overpriced in my opinion. I must say the paired wines were spot on though, complimenting the dishes well. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t say the experience we had was worth the $300 we paid.

Wonderful venue, view and service. However was surprised at the “up sell”, we chose the degastation menu with matched wines so that we could get a taste of the best Windy Point has to offer and felt the up sell items should be included in the price. That said, the food was amazing!

Windy Point Restaurant is not the place you'll go to every week, and it's a special place for you to go and enjoy a 5-course meal, be amazed by the view and have a good time (just prepare your wallet). The dishes are kind of small, but the set menu (and the dishes) are very well-designed. So, by the end of the meal, you will not be in a food coma or hungry. Our waiters tried to tell us what each dish was before dropping them off, but it was very hard to understand (sorry, thick accents). But that was not a problem because we had the menu printout on our table. ;)

Had the winter tasting menu. Did not pair with the wines. Food was amazing, these chefs produced a perfect menu, I was left feeling full but each dish seemed perfectly portioned and not heavy. Wine glass that was poured could have been a bit more generous (both times). The dessert (chocolate) was a stand out, worth going back just for this. Definitely worth the upgrade, heavenly. As for the staff, very friendly and professional but lacked personality and warmth, could have been the masks, but it was very clinical to get us each dish and move us out for the next sitting. I do like to have a quick chat as they pour the water at the table rather than an awkward silence, but they were not interested in that and I got nothing. Overall, a nice night, very quick dinner, but nice.

Beautiful view, pleasant hostess. Had the $100 per head plus drinks which was happy to pay however beware of additional extra charges i.e. Beef is $17.50 extra per head, etc. stated on menu but didn't read properly in the moment which escalated the cost up. Good wine list. Some of the dishes eg. Pumpkin soup/ choc dessert sampler were a rinse and repeat on last year which maybe appeals to some as signature dishes. Ginger cake dessert was flavourful and the stand out dish for me, something fresh and different.

A fantastic experience. The food was great (including the vegetarian options). Every one of our 24 guests were in raptures over the food, the presentation was fantastic and it tasted wonderful. Please Thank your chef and team for me. Please also thank the waitresses and waiters that evening for the seamless presentation of food and wine. Very well done.
