Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great recently renovated pub with overnight parking for our motorhome. Excellent service, great atmosphere, super clean amenities. Lost a star as food, while more than acceptable was not on par to the rest of the establishment. We shared crispy pork belly, (entrees size) and coconut...prawn salad, (main) . We found the entree way too meaty and in need of a Slaw or something to cut through the fat and sweet sticky sauce. Also wasn't expecting the pork to be totally deep fried. The salad was delicious, unfortunately the prawns were dry, overcooked and screaming for some sort of dressing. All said and done we will definitely drop in again and try something different. Keep up the good work and improving on what came before.More

We stayed and had dinner , the accommodation is beautifully appointed clean and comfortable, Scott gave us some suggestions on where to look around as we would not have known the beach is so close , we then enjoyed a lovely meal .

Valentine Dinner. Came for the Lamb Racks - no not available!! Alrighty ordered the lamb for entree wtf disgusting - resembled burnt pigs ears on a plate, I honestly thought it was a joke. Garlic Bread - burnt. Let’s hope mains are better. Hubby ordered...the steak with prawns and asparagus, steak medium to well cooked please. Steak over done even for a well done request. Asparagus was switched out for broccolini (thanks for the heads up) and the prawns were not deveined. My ever faithful order of Chicken Schnitzel with ham and sauce etc was a huge let down. A great size meal but omg the Schnitzel was cooked within an inch of its life. Cook please take some pride in what you are doing in your kitchen. People pay very good money for your food which to be honest is very simple to most cooks but I’m afraid too hard for you. I hope the locals will soon abort this place for meals until you sharpen up your act. Could be an amazing experience with a little more care.More

We stopped here on a long drive back from Melbourne. The hotel provides really clean and comfortable rooms that look to have been recently renovated. It's a lovely old country hotel with modern comforts. The bar and restaurant were very nice too.

Lunch today not too many patrons there to start. We arrived at 12pm and I noted 4 couples ordered before us. Seemed the burgers & steak sandwiches flew out of the kitchen. We waited almost 40mins for our meals. People that came in after us...got meals first namely being burgers…. I had the Chicken Kiev with mash and veggies. Probably a bit too much mash however the portion of other veggies was enough. Chicken cooked well and garlic butter oozed & complimented other sides well. I had a side of pepper sauce & was delicious to add to the meal. My husband had the Fish & chips however hard to know what the fish was as not mentioned in the menu, however pleasant and the chips and salad very nice. Presentation was great also. Prices are up there but don’t mind paying if the food is good. Well done guys, venue is very on point with other pubs and taverns in the area. Job well done. Would recommend & Thankyou chefs & staffMore

Most of the food looked great, I ordered a beef rib. The rib was supposed to be slow cooked. I got an almost completely black over barbecued rib, hard and dried out. I took it back and they heated me up another pre cooked one,...hard black and dried out. A waste of money, they ought to try eating one, they would either learn to cook one tender, or take it off the menu !More

Been staying in the area over Christmas and stumbled upon this diamond! How it’s changed in 30 years! Went one day after Christmas and they were swamped- told me an hour wait which I was really happy about. We’re on holidays and we’ve waited over...an hour at the fish and chips shop for greasy chips and scallops in town so we were happy to wait. At the end of the days over Christmas everywhere is busy- it’s your choice to wait or go to the servo and get a frozen pie! We Found a grassy spot in beer garden and relaxed- kids played with other kids and when hubby’s burger came out, my tarcos and kids snity and chips we were couldn’t be happier with the food and service from staff. Everything was fresh, filling and exactly what you’d expect for a decent pub feed. Went back on our way home and not as busy, once again friendly staff, great fresh fish, hubby for special on board - happy days!!! Will definitely come back and support this local family pub in a beautiful little stop in spot. Well done to the local family who has obviously put lots of love, time and money into restoring the old pub!More

It was rather busy but after waiting for over an hour we were served with battered fish chips and salad which looked like they were just warmed up from a frozen Coles pack. The kitchen was operated by young kids and the food tasted accordingly....Couldn't get a table to sit on even outside. Give it a miss.More

Went here on a Tuesday night for family birthday dinner. There are no weeknight specials as they advertise on their Facebook page. Except for Wednesday apparently. The waitress that served us was absolutely brilliant. Very friendly. As for the menu it was dissapointing. I had...the prawn linguine which was loaded with so much chilli that you couldn’t taste the prawns. Quiche Lorraine microwaved. Side salad great if you like just greens. That’s it. Nothing else. I emailed them to book and still havnt got a reply 2 days later. It’s just an average pub with very average meals. Chef looked as though he didn’t want to be there. Wont return.More

WOW !! WOW !! WOW!! I haven't been to the Royal for about 10 years...(It was a bit dodgy back then.) Today it's a very different story. The hotel has been renovated to beyond its' former glory. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL new bar, wooden flooring, original ceiling...and floors kept where able, a modern mix of decor... i.e. lounges, chairs, dining tables and stools etc. AND the food was DELICIOUS !!! I had the marinated chicken and haloumi salad with walnuts and avocado. My only criticism would be I'd prefer grilled haloumi to deep friend. Great coffee and Beer on tap. Super friendly staff. It was packed at midday... speaks for itself hey !! Definitely worth a visit or two.!!! Congrats to the 'new ' owners.More

We have been here several times and none of us have ever been disappointed. Our most recent visit was a yummy experience. Fish tacos and a stunning stir fry. Service is quick and drinks at bar prices are also appreciated. Sundays from 12 noon there...is a live local artist performing in the beer garden. If it's raining, music is relocated into the dining area - and it's non intrusive!More
