Popayan is a pleasant town for a couple days with a nice family atmosphere and a few pretty sights. It is not, however, a great place to eat. Mostly you get potato everything (empanadas, tamales, etc) and a few lame attempts at ethnic food or fine dining. This place is an exception and it is the choice of upper-crust diners,... More

A restaurant full of character and atmosphere with fading photos on the walls and lots of wood. We both had the much vaunted tasting menu which started well with tiny langoustines (2) in batter followed by tasty sea bass ceviche and fruit granita. But it was all let down by outsize portions of overcooked pollo a cognac which betrayed no... More

We visited in the off season time, so there are not many guests. We chose the set menu. Service was perfect, and so was the food. Portions seem small, but actually in totality there was more food than we could eat. The menu, 5 courses was of very good quality, prepared with just a bit more enthusiasm and served in... More

You can tell the place has had a good past, but food is terrible. Bread was stale, wine list was appauling with incredibly expensive bad wines and the arroz caldoso, although with good flavor was undercooked. The chef should be on top of his kitchen, since the place has potential.

Where in the world can you have a 5 course gourmet meal plus sorbet palette refresher after the starters, attentive waiters and elegant surroundings for £11? The Answer is here. They wheeled out a waiter who spoke a little English for him to practice and we enjoyed conversation with him in a mixture of English and Spanish! The mushrooms in... More

I had the et menu or 55000. It looked quite good. The appetizer, langustinos, was quite good, the second one, ceviche was pretty small, but tasty. The pepper steak I ordered medium, but was coming very rare, 1mm fried, the rest bloody. When I complained, the witer didnt care, he just shrugged. The veg on the side was horrible. carrot... More

The food is amazing in general. The beef stroganoff is very good and generous. Just a simple vegetable soup is a joy. Try the shrimp ravioli. But the sirloin is among the best I have had anywhere

I loved their food. You may get a fixed dinner for a 3rd of the price in the US. Definitely recommended.

A very good surprise in Popayan. Leaving the old fashioned decoration aside. The food was delicious. I totally recommend the steak in all its presentations. The staff was very friendly And helpful. A must in Popayan!

The most elegant and very popular among business people of the city restaurant, located in an old colonial house in the heart of the city.On the second floor there is room of the hotel with same nameKitchen with a claim to the French but with a local touch. At lunchtime, all the tables are occupied and you have to wait in line
