Loved the way they cook with the open fire. Amazing ribs! Ate here twice and enjoyed it both times. Not much English spoken but had no problems communicating.

Lunch menu for 14€ with local produce/dishes, however nothin impressive, in my opinion. We thought our Cocido Montañes starter was plentyful and pretty good, however the maijs where some how small and will little effort on them.

Very authentic atmosphere at this restaurant. Very helpful staff. Great prawns and ribs eaten whilst the display of the chef and the grill was very entertaining. Many of the customers were Spanish which speaks volumes to the quality. A highlight to our visit.

I know others claimed it was reasonably priced, but my read of the menu suggested otherwise, so we did not eat dinner here. Pity as the breakfast of tostada y café (toasted baguette with peach jam) was nice and I had a couple of nice sundowner beers one evening sitting outside watching the Spanish film crew pack up, very scenic... We ate here on our first night in the area and did not eat in Santillana again after the experience. The main dishes came with plain fries, the children's spaghetti with a cheap canned tomato sauce and the waitress was run off her feet and not shy about letting customers know she was not happy. Many better places to eat... More

There are a lot of tourist traps here. This isn't one of them. A charming waitress took the order for ribs, which we could see cooking on a roaring fire. They didn't disappoint. Well cooked, tasty and beautifully seasoned. All washed down with beers. Perfect.

Menu del dia recommended. Bean soup with pork, fish, dessert, wine, coffee. Giant portions all for less than $15.

This is simple, well cooked food at realistic prices. The key thing is that it is full of Spanish people! Don't order spaghetti though, unless you are a fan of Heinz ! Go for something from the incredible grill !!

This is something to our best experiences when we had to eat at the tourist spots in Spain. Casa Cossio is matching the competition around for 12 euros on the set menu, but the food quality is one of the best in the price range. Also, very big portions of the soups, hams, the fish (very well grilled and fresh)... More

Whenever we go to Santillana we always end up eating here, the food is really good, and reasonably priced, especially for Santaillana. With a bar and the "parrilla" (wood fired grill) downstairs, and the restaurant upstairs, a lovely old building, right next to the church, always bustling and with people outside, it can get very full in summer. They have... More

Located opposite the famous Colegiata in one of Spain's most picturesque towns, Santillana del Mar in Cantabria. Fantastic meats cooked on open wood fired grill, very well-known locally for its delicious ribs. Extremely popular with tourists also, menus in all languages.
