We had take away from here the other weekend. The roast of the day and a burger and chips. Both meals were a generous size. Ready on time. Hot and ready to eat as soon as we got home. Will certainly be ordering from here...again.More
I have frequented The Cooks Garden a lot over time and the restaurant is a delightful place to dine and the food is delicious but I am prompted to write this review as I just enjoyed a lockdown takeaway, my first. It was excellent and...I highly recommend it. Support local small businesses in these very difficult times.
There is no disappointment.
I ordered on line, and selected a delivery time an hour and a half ahead, Saturday nights can be busy, even in lockdown!
So easy to order using their website and paid at the checkout. Simple.
On a wet and miserable night I left it till right on the selected time to arrive and there were several other clients waiting for their dinners at the two windows… one for ordering and one for pick up.
On approaching the pickup window I saw two brown delivery bags and my name was on one of them. Right on time. What a delight!
To top off this experience the order was delicious! And that’s what Cooks is about, quality product and value for money. And it was hot!
The beef burger with caramelised onion and all the trimmings was sooooo tasty and the serving of chips was perfect.
I will certainly be ordering again as this lockdown looks to be going on for a while.
Highly recommend this establishment.More
What a lovely lunch - I felt very spoilt and happy. Our waiter was cheerful and friendly, and very efficient. I was able to gave 3 delicious courses from the set menu and all were Gluten Free 🙂. The entree was a tuna dish that...was mouth watering. My trout main was fantastic and the deserts yummy.
We felt relaxed and covidsafe, with alot of space between diners.
Oh yes, we had bubbles waiting on arrival which was a lovely touch.
Thank you for such an elegant and relaxed lunch.More
Found this place online while looking for a restaurant with a few fish/vegetarian options. Very decent meal for a restaurant in the middle of the suburbs. Service was friendly, even though we never seemed to see the same person twice. Chicken liver parfait and chargrilled...octopus lovely. Not so keen on the roast carrots - could have come out of the oven 5 minutes earlier.More
Had our first visit recently and will never go back. How this place is ranked 3/23 restaurants in Turramurra is baffling. It should be 23/23. A terrific looking menu and convenient location can’t gloss over terrible service by wait staff who just shouldn’t be anywhere...near the hospitality industry. Save your time & money. There are at least 22 better places in Turramurra to eat.More
We went as a group for dinner recently. Whilst the food was delicious, the service was disappointing. We were made to feel like an inconvenience. Better trained, more attentive wait staff & this restaurant will be great.
Made a last minute booking here on the way back from doing our income tax. Whilst I've visited previously over the years for work functions, this the 1st time for the mister and dining à deux. For the first time in all our recent dining...experiences in Hornsby (excluding the RSL which was meticulous) I was able to provide additional guest details (for COVID tracking) at time of online booking! On entry, a clearly identified 'COVID marshal' greeted us, cross-checked that we had provided details, requested & supervised us applying hand gel then escorted us inside.
Tables spacing exceeded the minimum requirements which was a pleasant change. Inside was beautiful & airy with high ceilings but also really good heating and there was an equally spacious outside space and garden area.
Service was attentive, swift and efficient but not in an off-putting ' get a move on way'. The three servers were all smiling & engaged & made each diner feel welcome. The wine list had a great selection with many reasonably priced options (from 38/bottle upwards). Explanations for COVID modifications were provided at each point for example, when the wine was served, they did not remove the cap; instead of salt & pepper grinders, sachets of same provided upon request.
We shared two entrees & a main - crispy zucchini flowers with a lemon & honey dressing, seared scallops atop a cauliflower puree with pancetta crisps, mushroom gnocchi with goats cheese. All three were delicious but the gnocchi was sensational! Incredible - pillowy soft gnocchi sautéed in butter, beautifully cooked mushrooms, goats curd, parmesan...my mouth is watering just typing this - we will be back! [total bill for a bottle of sauvignon blanc (from Orange), two entrees & the main was $110.More
What a lovely place for a lazy Saturday afternoon lunch to catch up with friends and enjoy really good food with great service very friendly and relaxed. We had scallops and corgette flowers and lamb cutlets for entrees and all were fabulous. The chilli crab...linguini was so delicious, one of the best I have had and everyone’s plates were emptied after duck breast and also barramundi. The sides and salads were so tasty too and did I mention the desserts?! Not sure how we found the room but the tart tartin was so good whilst the other 3 piggies with me polished of the soufflé, yum! Staff friendly and not over fussy we had such a lovely time, I cannot fault a thing, yes definitely will be back.More
