A few steps from the heart of town. Walking in past reception is a time warp to old Mexico. German ownership, very friendly and clean. Myself, I adopted the shnitzel with rockafort cheese sauce. Same exact meal served perfect every time. If I was restricted to a once a week outing, this would be the place. It gives you the... More

We have been here many times and have always been pleased with our meal. Every meal is cooked to order and arrived at the table steaming hot. For those that like them try the chicken livers. Slightly crispy and perfectly cooked. The Schnitzel with mushroom sauce is the best on the north coast. This is a small restaurant and owner... More

The ambiance to this little restaurant was great. Although its name and decore was Mexican, the food was more to the German taste. It is a few steps up the hill from Playa Alicia, close to many good shops. It was a bit on the pricey side but still reasonable (Cuba Libre was 120 pesos whereas across the street it... More

Lovely resturant, food great sized portions. Staff very helpfull and very pleasant surroundings. Have eaten there a few times now and love the Veiner Schnitsel and accompanying veg. Drinks well chilled and pleasant offer of free liquer at the end of meal. Well priced.

El Rancho restaurant is located inside the El Rancho Hotel. It is a small, breezy, open air bar and restaurant with a fairly small menu. The menus are in German, English and Spanish, and there are several good options, including German, Italian and Thai food. It's a nice quiet place to enjoy a meal.

We went here due to the reviews. We found the place to be a bit small and noisy. We also went to the DR for local-type food, but this menu was all German cuisine. While we love German cuisine, we have it often at home and wanted something different. My fault for not enough research.

EL RANCHO is tucked away on a side street, just a few blocks away from the center of town. It's a small, cozy, open air place surrounded by lush plants that provide a welcoming embrace for your dining experience. It's part of the EL RANCHO HOTEL, but feels quite separate and independent from the hotel. The wait staff is friendly,... More

We love Hotel El Rancho in Sosua. Their rates are great and the rooms are lovely! This time we stayed in a one bedroom apartment on the top floor. We loved everything about it and our stay except the bed. Not very comfortable. Everything else was great!

My husband and I discovered this restaurant while we were out walking. It is delightful! We invited another couple to join us for lunch one day and it was delicious. We all opted for the schnitzel which was perfectly done. The wine was cool and welcome on a hot afternoon. The menu is quite extensive and we plan to visit... More
