Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Borderline is so great. I've been eating here for years. You sit on cushions on the ground. You eat to-die-for dishes like Burmese potato salad (unlike any potato salad you've ever eaten) and Shan pumpkin ginger soup. Enjoy some conversation with other interesting patrons and...then go shop fair-trade handicrafts. Super-nice people. Should be your first stop in M.S.More

While not necessarily the most delicious food in Mae Sot, it is probably the most healthy. It is also a hangout for some long-term "Maesot hands" who are often willing to share their local observations collected over the past 20~30 years..

My wife and I went there for dinner on our visit to Mae sot. The garden restaurant looks very old, plus the back garden area needs a good cleaning. The food we ordered was lacking of taste and oily. It seems like a hangout more...for older expats. Staff were polite but this locations rating is way off. Maybe because of covid!More

This place is a lovely relaxing oasis on one of the main streets of Mae Sot. The front of house is a shop selling goods which support refugees and a gallery supporting local artists. At the back is a large, quiet shady area with low...tables at which you can sit or recline on visions and a raised area with conventional tables and a small library. You can sit and relax with a book or work at a computer (free WiFi) if you dare.. This with a selection of teas and proper coffee, good lunch menu and fresh foods. Thoroughly recommend for a lazy afternoon or refreshing put-stop .. Unhurried service by delightful staffMore

Borderline tea garden is a great place to relax and unwind. There is a cool and comfortable seating area at the back to sit down and enjoy some local cuisine. The serving sizes and generous so easy to share a couple of dishes. Recommend the...ginger tea which comes with honey on the side - great to wash down a meal! There are other reasons for visiting this place. The shop out the front stocks a great range of handicraft to suit everyone and ideal gifts to take home. They also have an art gallery upstairs which unfortunately we didn’t have time to visit. Great opportunity to support fair trade and local communities.More

Mae Sot is a growing city which is positioned on the Thai-Burmese border. We only stopped briefly in town but during that time we had a memorable meal at Borderline Tea Garden. It serves authentic Burmese-style recipes at very affordable prices. We especially recommend the...tea salad, the Shan potato salad and the Burmese curries with flat bread. The juices are very refreshing too. My one complaint was the service. It was one of those places which is very inattentive. We had to go up to the counter and call out to them. But the food was delicious and great value.More

We ate at borderline cafe three times and enjoyed all of our meals. The food is of excellent quality, absolutely delicious and a great price - I don't think any of the dishes are over 55 baht. Like other reviews we particularly enjoyed the flatbread,...samosa salad and the tea leaf salad. The adjoining shop has some great finds in it too. Will definitely be recommending to friends.More

I like this place instantly. Sitting after a long day on the ground and get a very delicious tea and calm down. Good service. After that you can go also to the borderline shop and buy some things of the region. I think both support...the borderline project that work with Burmese womanMore

This cafe is located behind the Fair Trade store filled with textiles, some of them of organic materials. The cafe serves Myanmar fare, consistent with its focus on the hilltribe refugees. Very simple, laid back, basic.

We had breakfast here, they have good options to make a local and more western mix of food. We had the fruit yoghurt muesli plus pressed coffee and flatbread with chickpeas, everything very tasty. Good natural juices as well. They have a shop and gallery...where you can find lots of stuff made by locals.More
