So I'm a bit biased when it comes to BBQ. I'm not a fan of a lot of sauce. To me, all that sauce is there to hide something. Meat should have a tasty dry rub and a good smoke flavor. I didn't care for this style of BBQ which wasn't very smoky and had too much sauce. We had... More

I often travel through this area, and usually have to resort to fast food. Not this time! Big Jake's is also a Fried Pie Shop, and was easy to locate due to signage. Large establishment, plenty of parking, and it has drive-through service. They were fairly busy, but there was no waiting to place my order at the counter. I... More

Nice parking lot and clean restaurant with upbeat young employee's. 3 kinds of BBQ sauce on a bar for you to pick to fit your taste, also they have pickles and sliced onion on the customer self serve bar with a pot of complimentary pinto beans. Several items on menu and all we had was enjoyable.

We enjoyed the pulled pork sandwiches with mac n cheese on the side. There also are homemade fried pies available for dessert.

Better than average BarBQue, large portions. My preference is the chopped beef sandwich with Cole slaw (I like it on the sandwich), ribs, sweet potato fries. If the baked potatoes are fresh they are good loaded with chopped BarBQue, cheese, butter, sour cream, etc. Pinto beans are unlimited & free if you dine in. And don't forget the fried pies-... More

I ordered a baked potato and requested it be topped with butter, coleslaw and beans, no meat. They rub the potato with some kind of salty/peppery rub and it tasted like it was baked in a BBQ oven. Delicious flavor. My guest had the baked potato topped with everything. Its was good too. I didn't see a loaded baked potato... More

We had pulled off in Hope. AR looking for a place to eat. We were told that the best place to eat Barbecue was Big Jake's. Well, for sure it was one of the best we had on this trip. My husband had the big plate with brisket, sausage, and ribs with beans and slaw. I had a huge potato... More

My family has been stopping in for years. The food is always good and quickly prepared. Wasn't a huge fan of the slaw but everything else was great!

Drive thru at 6:30 PM. Cold fries( what happened to fresh cut), dry, held over pork sandwich. Just not an enjoyable $20.00 meal!
