We had great service and a tasty meal at Techado Negro. The highlight was the locro (Argentinian stew of various meats and white beans + corn). The other stews were also tasty but had more the consistency of soup than stew. The 2-for-1 pisco sours were a great value but took a while to arrive, I guess this day the... More

Lots of veg and pasta. Veg soup not high on flavor. Good pesto sauce, salad greens and tomatoes not as good as some other places. Service very friendly.

We came with a group of 14 and were attented by Antonio in a very special warm way with big sparks of good humor. Una buena onda, how the Argentinians would put it. The young chef and owner Patricio cooks regional food in a very special way. My tenderloin steak with mushroom cream was so special, that I will come... More

There is a pleasant vibe about this place, and the welcoming staff made us feel at home. After a day's hiking we needed refueling and were not disappointed here. I had beef tagliatelle which was good, and my wife had lamb which was devine -- it fell off the bone. I also had a Beagle Negra, a lovely, creamy stout... More

Our host recommended this place as being a simple and good restaurant. It was much better. Fiod was delicious and fresh. The trout was excellent. Nice service.

If you want to have a simple but good dinner then this is right. It's not 5 star (and it doesn't claim to be) but the service was fast and friendly, the food good and plenty.

The inside was very funky with bright mural-like paintings on the wall and brightly colored everything! Food was delicious. They had a few more local type offerings than some of the other restaurants. I had a delicious "pot pie." The waiter, didn't catch his name, was very nice and did a great job. We really enjoyed it and would definitely... More

From the food to the service, this was not a good experience. The server spoke English and was a bit helpful but not particularly friendly. We waited almost an hour for our food. The explanation was lamb took awhile. It shouldn't have. I had the lamb chimichurri , it was definitely over cooked, to the point of being chewy. It... More

I ate at this restaurant one evening I failed to get in to La Tapera along the street. While not as good quality in food or ambience, I had a very good meal with reasonable service. The restaurant is obviously popular with groups of both Argentinian and foreign visitors and has a relaxed atmosphere with brightly coloured decor.

We were surprised at the quality of the restaurants in El Chalten, and Techada Negro was one of the surprises. Beautifully decorated restaurant; eye-catching art wherever you look. Nice array of selections on the menu. (We had lamb and the spinach lasagna.) Great service. Even the music playing in the background was a plus. Would definitely go there again.
