Popped in for the 1st time. Selected the homemade soup and a sandwich as a lite bite. Fantastic value at £4.50 a head. The soup was flavoursome and hot. There was a choice of 4 sandwich fillings. I chose the ham, thick cut ham on fresh bread, served with a salad garnish and crisps. Fantastic flavousome food at a great... More

A hidden gem towards the end of Church Street. Have been in twice last week and planning to visit again this week. A very quaint tea house with friendly excellent service. My mum, sister and I were on a reminiscing holiday from the midlands. My mum was born in Wales. The waitress was so informative on the menu as well... More

Visited here with my hubby, my daughter and her husband together with their 5 month old son. The beverages were very good and the service was also good. My only criticism is that they did not offer baby changing facilities not even of the most basic nature! Resulting in my daughter having to change baby on her knee!

Some good coffee, tea and cake. Just the ticket on a wet Welsh day. Service friendly and quick. Fresh and homemade cakes. Try the Welsh cakes warmed with butter.

Very warm welcome when we called in for an afternoon coffee. It was a bit quiet, but the whole town was, maybe a little early in the season. But like I say, we were made to feel very welcome and the coffee and snack that we had was good

Although Barmouth itself is a bit tired and run down (like a lot of UK sea side towns) and although today was a hot sunny day with plenty of folk around half the eateries in town were closed so the choice was limited. Perhaps they are all so rich from charging tourist prices they can afford to close. This little... More

As one of a group of very wet Ramblers, who turned up out of season on a wet afternoon, dripping all over their floor, it was great to receive such a friendly welcome. Enjoyed my cream tea and my friends the selection of cakes with proper teas (good choice) and cafetiere coffee. Nice traditional, no nonsense tea room with friendly chatty... More

15 very wet walkers piled into 'The Old Tea Rooms' in Barmouth on Thursday. We were made so very welcome. Dawn couldn't do enough for us - we enjoyed lovely tea, cakes and scones and soon felt much warmer and drier. A gem of a place - well worth a visit if you are in Barmouth.

Arrived here desperate for refreshment on route up coast, so delightful. Attracted by sign of soup and sandwich at bargain price, that's what we had. Lots of tea, quirky surroundings, old fashioned in a good way. Pleasantly surprised as had picked fairly randomly, so enjoyed. Left refreshed ready to continue journey.

Thank Mary H
