We stumbled across this lovely little place whilst visiting Barmouth on a very cold Sunday afternoon. Being quite late in the day we wern't to sure if it was open but once inside we were greeted with such a warm welcome. Decor is stunning.. With beautiful lights intwined in branches over the ceiling, lovely candles & pictures too. The owner... More

Having been here before we knew what to expect, but we were blown away by the food this time. We had the fish pie , steak , lasagne and burgers. They came out hot and on time , large amounts and good value, and quality . The waitress Hanna was fantastic and nothing was to much trouble. I can thoroughly... More

Eat at the restaurant last night and had a thoroughly enjoyable dinner. The food was plentiful and cooked well, my pate and the fish pie were superb. The wine was very good value and the service very good despite the restaurant being full for most of the time we were there. Will certainly visit there again when in Barmouth.

A lot of other pubs and restaurants had stopped serving but The Anchor was open and I'm really glad we found it. Good food and friendly staff.

I am surprised by some of the negative comments. 12 of us ate last night, all had starters and main meals, all of us really enjoyed them. The waitress couldn't have been more attentive and friendly.

The restaurant offered very poor service. The food was very poor as well - greasy and unappetizing. The house wine was absolutely undrinkable, and when I mentioned it, they nodded as if they understood, but charged us anyway.

Called for breakfast which sadly we had just missed. Great choice of food which all sounded amazing. We several meals from sandwiches, soup or a kids meal. The kids chicken nuggets seemed to be home made and my daughter demolished the lot. Each meal was fresh, flavoursome and a treat to eat. There was nothing about the visit we could... More

On a recent visit to The Anchor the food was good, service was good, prices were not to bad, apart from the fact that the fish and chips are advertised as £7.95 and we were then charged £12.95. On the board inside it stated £7.95 we were then charged £12.95 it has put us off going back there. The prices... More
