Leaflets, small tourist shop, toilets and well used little café. Plenty of car parking available. Sadly, the space smelt of food/cooking oil...didn't feel inclined to have a drink there.

We arrived in Newton Stewart on Saturday 7th Jan after a 3hr drive so decided to grab a spot of lunch and wasn't disappointed. A great selection of food but we stuck to our usual soup and a toastie. 2nd time we had done the glen trool walk and wanted a cup of coffee to warm the cockles before heading... More

Also had a very good stock of... More

In the area for 1 week and ate there twice and it was excellent. Great quality food and the staff were superb - chatty and friendly.

Limited for choice when looking for a place to have lunch with a dog in tow. Look no further than this place! Not just a nice welcome, but lovely friendly staff, and customers, and good food. I'm definitely going again. Absolutely lovely place. Real nice comfy seats and a friendly atmosphere. Gave my westie her own bowl of water and... More

Often pop in for a lunch and it is always quite busy. Good food at very reasonable prices. Really good local information available to people for walks and general visitor attractions. Highly recommend.

Looks a bit of a jumble on first sight. We were surprised not to see any female staff in a catering establishment. However as a pit stop it was ideal, nice pot of tea and lovely shortbread. Heard the server being really helpful to another customer. Definitely worth a stop over if in need of sustenance, it is right next... More

The Belted Galloway Visitor Centre offers Newton Stewart and area a facility for both visitors and locals. Situated in the main town car park directly behind the main street, the facility has its own 12 space car park, full disabled access with toilets and it is all on one level. The facility is privately owned and receives no public money so has to operate at a profit, despite this we offer free information and stage community events on an ongoing basis. In addition to Tourist Information the facility also provides heritage, historical and community information by wall boards, video and our "tartan history" on the roof and walls.
