I took my brother and sister-in-law for lunch yesterday. I've been going to Housman's since it opened and have always had lovely food and really good service. Yesterday was a disappointment. When we arrived, on time for our reserved table, we were completely ignored for...More

A restaurant / wine bar with nearby pay parking (unless you are lucky parking free in the square opposite) the food is always excellent with prompt and friendly service. This tends to be my 'celebratory meal' venue in Church Stretton, especially if there are vegetarians...More

Welcoming bar/restaurant with a nice 'feel' to place. Quite an extensive menu but it did seem rather confused, offering dishes from all over the place. We went to try the grazing menu with tapas style dishes and were not disappointed. Staff efficient and friendly.

A large empty corridor feel to the bar/restaurant, badly needing crowds of people to make it friendlier/cosier. This was Thursday lunchtime, and at 12.30 it lacked a warm atmosphere with only a few diners scattered about. The decor was attractive and interesting, and the toilets...More

Attractive interior with pleasing informal ambience. My sea trout fillet with roasted broccoli and asparagus, and tarragon cream, was absolutely delicious. I had to limit the amount of ooh-ing and ah-ing so as not to appear too mad. My OH ordered the burger, which was...More

I visit the place fairly often as I live local. They always offer a fantastic selection of real ales which are kept and served to an excellent standard. Not sure if they are capable of serving a bad pint. Food and service always looks exceptional,...More

We booked eight people for Sunday lunch. Three of our friends were running about half an hour late .... no problem, we got drinks and waited for them without any hassle. Friendly and laid back staff. The menu was quite extensive, and all the dishes...More

Creative menu that delivers great tasting food. The only downside is the ambient noise can be very loud especially if people are stood at the bar drinking

We stopped here on a visit to the area. We chose Housmans as we liked the sound of the food, and there was plenty of room inside the restaurant for us, and our daughter in her pram. We had the 'tapas' menu with a selection...More

I'm sorry but I can only confirm my previous response. We do to serve aubergines with the roast, which typically come with cauliflower cheese, carrots & green beans as well as roast potatoes. I will happily post photos or... More

Description
Informal style restaurant & bar with an a la carte menu changed three times on average each week, together with a selection of tapas style grazing boards. Wherever possible local fresh ingredients are used and we buy our meat from local butchers.
