This was a disappointing meal, we chose the slow cooked belly of pork which was very tough and slightly burned. I hope this was just an off day, we have dined here many times over the years and have always been happy with both the...More

Used to come here often as the food was always very good... cooked to order and decent portions, a tad on the pricey side but worth it. Last time we popped in just for a drink while out for a walk. Paid £7 for a...More

We have visited the Blue Lion on a number of occasions for lunch and for dinner. The quality of the food is consistently high and well priced, evidenced by the number of returning satisfied patrons. The welcome is warm, the service is good and the...More

Just stopped by for a cold drink. Two J2o cost us £6-40! Yes I know pub prices are higher. But £3-20 each for a drink that costs on average 70 to 75p from any supermaket. Wasn't as if the service was good either. Stood at...More

Walking distance from our rental cottage made this an attractive place, but we hadn't realised that booking for a Saturday evening was a good idea. However the staff were able to find a table for 8 of us for an early dinner in the restaurant....More

Good food and good value. Very attentive staff. Wine list a trifle disappointing but you can still find a good reasonably priced one. Dogs welcome. Took overseas visitors and they were very pleased

We called in here for lunch as we were in the area. This is a lovely old pub and restaurant, a gem, large open fire, tables well spaced, a delight. We ordered our meals and got a drink and took our seats at a table...More

After 49 years of cooking Christmas Day lunch for family and friends we decided to 'rebel' and booked in at the Blue Lion, a couple of miles from home. From the start to finish, it was memorable; delicious food, lovely atmosphere, attentive and professional staff....More

Having visited the Blue Lion on numerous occasions after shooting locally I thought it would be nice to take the family for lunch. The menu was fairly extensive with starters on chalk boards over the bar & main courses over the fire place, we also...More

Yes we do. Dogs are allowed in the bar area, but not the restaurant. The menu is the same in both areas.
