A wonderful situation for a restaurant, high above Lyme Regis with wonderful views. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable and seem to take great pride in the good they serve. The menu contains firm favourites such as Fish Pie and some more unconventional fish such as Huss and Cuttlefish.

Lovely spot, relaxed if a little cramped. Lobster superb and cuttlefish with almonds as a starter were magnificent. Exceptionally powerful Bloody Mary and wine not unreasonably priced. A little too many "upsells" for me. Most of these we would have paid for anyway as a matter of course (no pun intended!).

We enjoyed an excellent meal from a mouth-watering menu. By judicious choosing, we were able to share and so enjoyed fish soup, prawns, dressed crab, and cod. We had helpful advice from the staff, each dish was well presented, and we were more than satisfied. Excellent wine menu too! A discount applicable via our hotel booking made a fine-dining experience... More

Dined here on recommendation and we weren't disappointed. Excellent fish pie, chocolate and honeycomb dessert and chilled viognier. Relaxed place with friendly and attentive staff. I'm sure the view is stunning when it is not March, dark with a thick sea mist but we were happy enough! We booked a table easily but in the busy season I think early... More

Four of us had a very convivial evening here, starting with cocktails, followed by three courses and a bottle of local white wine. The menu is interesting and includes dishes that you will not find elsewhere - this is what you pay for. Everything was delicious and the fish beautifully cooked, accompanied by great fries and winter greens. Unlike many... More

My wife and I had lunch here to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and could not have picked a better day or venue. Spring had finally arrived, the sun shone and we looked out on a marvellous panoramic view from the Cobb to Golden Cap and on to Portland Bill in the far distance as we enjoyed our lovely lunch. The... More

....but pretty good. The service was excellent, though, and the restaurant is nicely done out and in a great location.

This restaurant was fantastic and we were incentivised to go there with our 10% discount as we stayed in their sister establishment Hix Townhouse. The seafood was truly superb, we had oysters, lobster and lemon sole. The service was friendly and enthusiastic. The prices were quite high, but I can't argue with the quality of food. If I was to... Very nice staff, menu was quite limited, my starter, fish soup was excellent as were Benjamin's muscles, we both had sea bream , it was ok, nothing special. The restaurant is presented like a cafe, no tablecloths, but the prices are more restaurant £110 for two.

Thank Lesley D

Hix Oyster & Fish House overlooks the harbour in Lyme Regis and boasts the most stunning panoramic views across the Jurassic coast - this is easily one of the most picturesque spots to enjoy fresh British fish seafood.

The Fish House is an informal, light and airy dining room with simple white wooden tables and chairs. Here the focus is on sourcing and serving the best produce we can find and doing as little to it as possible so that you enjoy the real flavour of great British ingredients.

HIX Oyster and Fish House supports sustainable fishing.
