We were staying at a local camp site and walked down for dinner. As always you need to book well in advance- even when we last came in February it was busy so don't leave it to chance! Loads of people walked in trying for...More

service was ok, food was good , price was high . I would say it was very overrated and over priced- perhaps it's aimed at the British yup-ocracy .

whilst on holiday decided to buy fish and chips, the chips were terrible, bitty and over cooked. I think Rick Stein needs to address this as it was our first experience and we shall not be returning.

Agree with other reviewers that if this didn't have a famous chef as the proprietor then it would not get such generous praise. Perhaps Padstow is in the same bracket. Everything at the cafe was ok but not at all exceptional or particularly memorable.

If you want to sample a taste of Stein cuisine, on balance this is the best option. Whilst The Seafood restaurant is excellent, it is pricey. The Cafe offers a set menu with a variety of options over three courses for good value. Ambience is...More

The title says it all - disappointing. We had the cod curry and were warned it was spicy - it wasn't. Poor presentation, indifferent service. I suppose the prices are OK, given that it's 'Rick Stein's cafe' but the experience did not live up to...More

We do have a few tables outside in the courtyard at the cafe where dogs are allowed. We also allow dogs at our pub The Cornish Arms in St Merryn. I hope you enjoy your meal.
