We went to the Victoria Inn on Friday for breakfast. We were placed in the lifeless bar area. The bar man took our order and we helped ourselves to the cereals/juices on the buffet table. Our breakfasts arrived but we waited ages for our toast....More

It's years since I have been and had set my heart on a crab dish. Ate outside - the better bar snacks menu wasn't offered as it was hidden under the children's menu. The crab (mayonnaise) baguette was ok, didn't need fries, would have preferred...More

We stopped here mid walk for a well earned lunch. I had the Welsh rarebit portobello mushroom on gluton free bread with tomato relish. It was simply delicious! Good gluton free bread is rare but this was really good! My husband had the crab baguette...More

We walked along from Wells to enjoy a lunch here. The building is lovely although there are no comfortable seats to enjoy a coffee after your meal which was a shame. Interesting menu and the bar is dog friendly but the bar staff were rude...More

Description
Standing at the gateway to Holkham and the National Nature Reserve, the Victoria is a classic English inn owned by the Coke family and managed by the Holkham estate. There are ten elegant bedrooms, the bar and dining rooms offer a relaxed blend of style and comfort. The “Vic” serves delicious locally sourced food, much of it grown and raised on the estate with a bold emphasis on freshness, simplicity and value. Holkham has been a leading agricultural estate since the 1800’s when Thomas William Coke bought the site and the young Queen Victoria elevated him to the peerage in recognition of his contribution to farming in 1837. The name of the proposed new inn must have been inevitable when it opened its doors in 1838. The Victoria re-opened in Spring 2013 following extensive refurbishment.
