Really good food, we had a main and dessert. Portion sizes are generous so be warned and don't over-order as we did. The Paneer was particularly delicious. One of the members of staff was hard to engage with and not overly pleasant, otherwise the service...was good and prompt. I think the quality of the food was very good and I would go again. The restaurant did lack a little atmosphere but I think being in a hotel does not help + it was a Monday evening (to celebrate our anniversary)More

Visited for a special birthday with friends having previously eaten at Atols ‘Benares’ restaurant (and loved it). Sadly Sindhu at the complete Angler does not Compete. Drab dining room. Tables rammed in. Sloppy service. Inattentive staff. Food was ok but not the Wow experience we...were anticipating. Do not recommend.More

I have to say that I booked on a whim and thought that I may be let down with tiny portions. They pitch this just right, the food is exquisite and well presented. The staff are a little amatuerish, which lets down the chef. For...instance could not make a Brandy coffee. The room as was the rest of the hotel dated and tired. The complete angler is relying on it fame and history rather than retaining its historic dignity. I would go again my mind keeps drifting back to the food, sublime.More

Came here for a significant birthday celebration with husband and friend, we had the tasting menu, left feeling full but somehow a bit disappointed. As with other reviews, the service here needs seriously tightening up if it is to do the food justice, I’d describe...it as a bit amateurish and haphazard. Also, the dining room itself lacks wow, which is a bit surprising given its location. Shame really, I don’t think I’ll return.More

The taster menu was delightful with an excellent accompaniment of wines. This is the best Indian food I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. The location is stunning, even in the rain. Lovely staff and beautiful decor. I had a wonderful afternoon and left...very satisfied, this exceeded my expectations.More

My wife and I have eaten at some of the best Indian restaurants in the country. As this place is a restaurant of Atul Kochar we thought we'd give Sindhu a try. Very disappointed. Can't understand all the amazing reviews to be honest. If you...want a decent indian similar to your neighborhood curry house then Sindhu is ok but you'll pay 3 times the price. If you've eaten at places like Amaya in London, Gymkhana, Kricket, Tamarind Kitchen or even Dishoom then dont expect that quality here...Disappointing!More

I had high expectations for Sindhu and although the food didn’t disappoint the service was poor for an eatery of this calibre. Stuffy, disinterested, with no attempt to engage with us. Added to that the decor felt dark and dingy and the complex the restaurant...is based in is tired and in need of some TLC.More

Food wonderful - service woeful The food was absolutely fabulous and I am a great fan of Atul - he comes across as a great man and chef who is being let down by his staff I’m sorry to say. Why the staff are wearing...masks is beyond me to be honest given the current rules - it is difficult to hear them and doesn’t add to the ambience. Briefly we got seated and then got moved with no explanation - the area we were put in was freezing and when we asked to resolve it was a I’ve turned the air conditioning off - no apology The plates were not cleared away promptly and the drink glasses were left for all of service but apparently the waiter had to have a tray to clear them when asked ! The staff were surly unwelcoming and did not in any way live up the quality of the food they were serving. If this is normal then I suggest Atul makes some personal visits - however the food (not cheap but not ridiculous either ) saved the day.More

Eight of us had lunch here to belatedly celebrate a 60th birthday. We all opted for the 3 course fixed price lunch menu. The food was superb. I've heard on cookery programmes talk of "depth of flavour". Now I understand what is meant. For me...my highlight (and we are talking fine margins) was the rice pudding. Wow. So smooth. Almost like a creme brulee. The taste. Cardamom? Cinnamon? Service was excellent. Attentive but not fussy. It was nice to see Mr Kochar around. In other words this isnt just his name over the door. Highly recommendedMore

We have been living in Henley for seven years and I have wanted to go to Sindhu for the entire time. Finally we were free, there was a free table and off we went. I usually write long reviews, but I'm afraid whatever I say...won't do justice to this fabulous restaurant. I have taken many pictures to show the execellent food. Service is discreet and attentive. The view is magnificent and it was full on a mid-week lunchtime. There is a good reason why it's hard to get a table here, but it is entirely worth the wait. And finally - a word about the Kulfi. AMAZING.More
