Oldest pastry shop of the Canary founded in 1916. Nice old school deco. Lots of seating and different rooms. Excellent service by the owner (we asked to taste three of their classic pastries and everything he chose was fantastic). Pastries are served on a silver elevated platter, very stylish. Wow, the taste of those pastries, amazing... I would pass by... More

We've previously read about their cakes, and it was a pleasant surprise that they also serve food. We had tried their fish soup (sopa de pescado) and the salted cod with onions and potatoes (bacalao cebollada con papas arrugadas) both were perfect, home-style dishes, (although bacalao can be a bit of acquired taste), then we had some sweets (they're also... Cannot comment re food as only had coffee and cake, but what a lovely place. The staff were lovely and the cakes are to die for.Plenty of choice to pick from which made it difficult for us so we were greedy and had 2 each! It was recommended to us prior to our visit and I can now understand why. Very... More

La Orotava is something of a culinary desert on a Sunday evening but fortunately Casa Egon is open at least until 8.30. The surroundings inside are simple but full of character, the menu is fairly limited but we enjoyed the spanish and cheese omelettes. Prices are extremely reasonable.

We stumbled upon this lovely place by walking through the adorable streets of beautiful La Orotava and were immediately invited to come further. We were pleasantly surprised, because not only were we treated to some delicacies, but also to the entire history of the place. 100 years old and it is indeed as if time has stood still, one of... Don't be put off by the frontage, step inside, choose your cakes and then explore the building, which goes on and on.Outside tables are to the rear in the beautiful Jardines Victoria. Coffee and cakes are a must. It has been here since 1916 so they must be doing something right.

Amazing place. We entered to the shop (from the image), walked through the kitchen and interior and sat down outside, in Victoria's Garden. We get cortado leche y leche (barraquito without alkohol and spicy addition) and very delicious pastiers. Everything was very sweet, very good and very cheap :)
