Easter Sunday in Carlingford was mad, loads of young people getting drunk and the gardai checking you coming in. However The Bay Tree was an oasis of calm with superb service. I had cod with cockles others had chicken, this was top notch. Service was excellent and a meal for 4 with wines and beer was 140 euro. It's a... More

My wife and I had dinner here recently and it can't be faulted. We both had steaks, which had plenty of taste, and the sides were all delicious. There is a great selection of local craft beer, and the staff are relaxed and friendly. Recommended if you're in Carlingford.

Ordered steak and chips . The chips tasted stale the steak wasn't left to rest and I had to use my napkin to mop up the blood and juices on the plate . There was a lot of noise with a hen party . But the young staff where really lovely and friendly .

It's on the expensive side but the price is good for the quality of the overall dining experience. Highly recommend this spot for a nice couple's night out.

My wife and I visited one Sunday evening during our break in Carlingford and the Baytree definitely lived up to it's reputation. We had the 3 course menu and the quality and taste of the food was exceptional; I particularly loved the duck starter. The lady who served us was very friendly and the timing of the courses was perfect.... More

22 of us on a stag party dressed as bloodz and crips descended upon the Bay Tree at the weekend. We were given the comfort of the back room all to ourselves and a huge table that we could all sit around. We were given a set menu which was excellent and great value for money. There was a fantastic... More

Although I did not have a meal in this restaurant during my stay in Carlingford, I wanted to take a moment to record an anecdote that I think speaks highly of The Baytree. I was planning to cook dinner for my extended family but neglected to bring the most important ingredient in a curry - the rice. I took a... More

Description
We are a beautiful little personal restaurant right in the center of a Medieval Village called Carlingford. Co. Louth. We provide a wonderful array of beautiful meals... Carlingfords only Michelin rated restaurant. We also have 7 beautiful B & B rooms located on our premises. We serve not only the freshest of produce, fish, meats and everything else on our premises. Our poly tunnel supplies us a lot of the year with fresh herbs, salad leaves from our garden which is also on site. We serve freshly ground coffee and lovely cups of tea in the morning and it is a delight to walk through our little garden on a summers evening. We have 2 private function rooms which can hold up to 40. Christenings, Communions, Birthdays, all occasions, specializing in our service for pre-wedding meals.
