Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our tour stopped here for lunch. Had a really good sandwich, but the reason for the review is for the pastries. Everything we tried was amazing, especially the vínarbrauð. The level of almond paste made it the best I've had. Only bought a half loaf...(log?) of it though and wished I had bought more!More

Great spot to stop on the way out exploring. We were on our way to Vik and this was a good spot to stop for a bathroom break and a coffee. The selection was incredible and the pastries were delicious. The staff was very friendly...and helpful.More

We always try and find the best bakery around in every city we visit! We passed through Selfoss which was about 15-20 minutes drive from our accommodation. Happy that we did as service and products were up to standards. Too many to choose from!

Nice cakes and drinks. Surprised decaf isn't available though as I would like a coffee. The sandwich rolls were good though and service very friendly.

We came here on our first day of our road trip around Iceland. During our trip we came to realise this is a chain and there are a few of these dotted around Iceland in the gas/service stations. The bakery has lots on offer the...chocolate chip cookies are great. They have coffee and lots of other treats and sandwiches on offer.More

The building where the bakery is located has a plexi-glass floor where you can see where the 2 tectonic plates come together. Very cool. The food here is wonderful. The bread is obviously fresh; made that morning. We even bought some pastries for later and...we were on a cruise ship (free food).More

Superb! Croissant ham, Brie sandwich with honey mustard was delectable! Nutella filled donuts to die for. Also tried Kleiner donut and fold over pizza warmed. Fast service, friendly patient staff, clean facility. Highly recommend if you are passing through.

We were staying at the hotel across the road and popped in here to pick up something for lunch. We chose two rolls and they were quite different. A simple ham and cheese was light yet tasty, a bacon and chicken was much larger and...heavier. Both were good. There was a large selection of cakes but we didn't have them.More

Almar Bakari is an excellent bakery with a large choice of ready-made sandwiches, cakes, pastries, etc. If there are no ready-made sandwiches to your liking, they will make up what you want with a wide choice of breads and fillings. There are plenty of tables...inside and a few outside if the weather is OK. Prices are reasonable by Icelandic standards. There are toilets in the adjacent shopping center and plenty of parking.More

We needed a break making the trek along Highway 1. This came up on the left near a large grocery store. They had plenty of room, a convenient bathroom, good coffee, and great pastries.

This question has nothing to do with me, however, I should like to say that when we came in August, the staff were fine (maybe having my 4 year old grandson with me helped?!) and the food we took away with us was delicious!
