Having not visited for several years, we were in the area and thought why not try out the bistro again? We were two of many having dinner that night and not being able to talk for others, found the meals to be very good & reasonably priced to boot! My wife's crumbed cutlets was huge, so much so, that she took a doggie bag home & enjoyed for lunch the next day. I picked the steak special and was very happy with my choice. Friendly staff, cold drinks & good meals, all you can want I reckon?

Thank god the Opals staff are back at Bulli Workers Club. With a new and improved menu and great size portions. The staff are great and are also pleased to be back serving the customers.

Good food at very reasonable prices, no arty farty small sculpted piles in the middle of a massive plate. Thoroughly enjoyed our Barramundi.

In conjunction with the club bar prices the meal was so overpriced The meal itself was so bland had Barramundi but was served three short fillets The meal was like a midday pub counter lounge at an inflated price Cannot recommend

I had dinner at Opals recently. I selected the crumb cutlets and asked for an additional cutlet. Was told it's not financially possible and you can not alter the menu. When the meal arrived, it was 2 mass-produced cutlets, completely devoid of flavor and taste. The crumb coating was terrible and oil-soaked and tasted like cardboard. This restaurant IS NOT a hidden gem. Sorry, definitely no-repeat customer.

Came back for another great meal, huge servings , I couldn't do mine full justice ! One of the best Lamb Shank meals I've ever had ! A real nice country feel Club and a place we will re-visit when down that way !

Can’t say food is exceptional, but it’s certainly good and great value.
Surf and turf now comes with prawn won ton sticks rather than fresh prawns. Not bad, but fresh prawns much better (minor whinge).
Poached salmon very nice.
Both come with either hot chips (good quality) & salad or steamed vegetables.
So at $27 & $25 respectively both great value.

Consistently good food. And the staff are always happy to help if you want to alter a meal slightly to suit your needs. The kitchen not only listens to any suggestions, they actively seek any ideas for a change. I have never experienced such friendliness & helpfulness in a club before, and the staff deserve praise for lifting the standards of this venue. If you don't have a huge appetite, look at the half size meals. These are more than adequate for adults and older people who don't need a big meal.

Had a wonderful meal on Sunday the 27th! Place was packed but food came out promptly and was delicious. We had a group of about 10 people who ordered a variety of different meals which everyone enjoyed. Very good value and great portion sizes. Loved the sides which were served with the meals, salads looked amazing and the vegetables I had with my main were very good and tasty. Good service and very friendly staff. Would highly recommended as they are above and beyond your normal club meals.

Only stopped on a whim but saw the cars in the car park & the crowds in the Bistro. What turned out to be a fair wait was well worth it , great meals, huge in size whilst small in price ($38 for two) , friendly staff & a relaxed atmosphere when the band kicked in ! Had the cheapest shout of the weekend @ $8.70 plus hit 3 numbers in Keno and paid for the night, Value Plus !! A Good friendly little Club in Bulli.

We are regular visitors and it never disappoints us. It's club food and excellent value for money. Staff are more than wonderful.... if only all eateries valued their customers so highly

We had lunch and dinner here recently and were happy with the service and meals.
Lunch special of $6.50 stew with vegetables was excellent. Schnitzel burger ($11) was good also.
$10 schnitzel (Monday night special) was good, as was the lamb cutlets. The single pasta dish available was average and not one I would reccomend.
There are however extremely limited vegetarian options available on the menu.
The staff were very friendly and the seating enviromnet is nice. I would return for lunch or dinner when next in Bulli.

Food is always nice with generous servings. Spacious with a lot of windows so you don't feel like you're trapped inside even on a beautiful day. Their coffee is pretty good too.

This Bistro seems to be the standout in the local area for big plates of well-cooked food for a good price. Had the $13 rump steak Tuesday night special and was served a huge medium rump cooked perfectly with sides and a really tasty mushroom sauce. Definitely a higher quality meal than i've had in other club bistros in the northern suburbs of Wollongong. At dinner time there seemed to be almost no-one in the rest of the club but the dining room was completely full so the locals/tourists must know about it. Staff were very friendly and seemed genuine when thanking us for visiting.
