Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Was given a tip by a friend. I’ve lived in the area all my life and didn’t know of this place. The old mill is full of quirky shops of interest but the cafe is the jewel. I don’t eat bread so I asked for. Reuben sandwich without bread. (Kinda deconstructed). I’m just sad I didn’t get the photo it deserved, and yum. I told the chef I had a lot of fun eating eat. He said he had a lot of fun making it. The fun came out in the food. I’ll be going back again and again. The staff could not be more friendly or helpful, and it nice that the chef is so available.

I love this place. the customer service is always exceptional. their food portions are generous and their coffee is smooth. It's conveniently located next to Woolies and is in the same complex as a wood working furniture shop (Timbermill?), a florist, a small cactus shop and there is a boat which houses chickens.

Food looked beautiful and tasted even better! Menu was really extensive and included lots of kids options. Staff super accommodating of dietary requirements also. Loved it!

The restaurant has obviously changed hands during Covid and in turn the menu the food has gone down hill dramatically. The beef brisket burger was disgusting. The meat was just fat and gristle. The coleslaw was overloaded with gluggy dressing and the chilli dressing on the side smelt like pure vinegar - I did not even attempt to use it. The meal was served in a wire basket on paper and a napkin which promptly went soggy and enmeshed with the burger. As a result most of the meal ended up on the table. The only good thing about the meal was the chips. They also had a pit fire going which completely smoked out the place. I wish I had taken a photo to show you how disastrous the experience was. Such a shame as the vintage shop Dreams and Memories and the surrounding studios are fantastic and well worth a visit. I wish I had saved my money and bought a piece of art or china.

The setting is great and the staff are friendly but the food was ordinary. It was cooked fine it was just weird combinations and not enough information on the menu about dishes. I got eggs Benedict with fried chicken and it was served on pancakes which it didn’t state on the menu. I had asked for no bread and was told I’d doesn’t come with bread but then wasn’t told it came with pancakes ? My daughter got pancakes with fruit and the presentation was bad. Pancakes with big chunks of baked apple with the skin on . The pancakes and apple were served with a sweet syrup but it needed something else, like cream, as it was very dry . For the price it was disappointing and there are plenty of other cafes in the area doing way better food. We left more than half of our food. We wouldn’t go back.

I was so excited to find out my favourite little cafe was back open and not permanently gone during covid 19 just to be pulled short to find out it is in no way what it used to be. This place has changed so much and not in a good way, there appears to be new owners because nothing is the way it was, no friendly or warm staff anymore at all, only four/five options of food after 11am with no alterations accepted and the food does not even seem very fresh anymore yet the pricing has sky rocketed for a much lower qauility of service and product. It is very sad to say that the timbermill cafe is not what it used to be in anyway and hopefully it will go back to the glorious happy place it was that i would feel forced to go back to daily.

Buzzers not working hence cold food when we SEARCHED for it. Refund given after complaint. Ran out of many menu items at 10 am on a Saturday morning. Only banana milk shakes available. Unwilling to go off menu and do a simple egg on avo with toast.

One of the beat places in Wollongong for breakfast and coffee. Good food, great atmosphere, handy location and quick service. Staff are super friendly and dogs are welcome. There are some cool little pop up shops right next door that are worth a look too.

Happy to see this establishment reopened by Phoebe & Lachlan, a great Duo serving nice food and coffee. My 2nd visit in its first week of opening! I encourage other locals and visitors to try them out 😊

If it is raining, and you have 1 person serving, can I recommend that you give them your attention so they don’t get wet. Perhaps use the awning at your service area, that is attached to the wall. No care for customers at all.

Great quirky vibe. Nice coffee. But limited selection of food. Particularly if you don’t eat animal products.

Lovely food, coffee and environment to relax in. Make sure to have a walk around and upstairs to see the work of and meet some extremely talented local artists and florists. :)
