Tul y Sol offers rooms with all the basic equipment, tastefully furnished and above all with the most beautiful view from both rooms (those on first floor) and the restaurant terrace - you can sit the whole day and just enjoy the lake view: Breakfast included in the room rate:

It's already been two years since my now-fiance and I stayed at Tul y Sol, but the experience still lingers in my mind. I have never seen more beautiful sunrises in my life, and the rooms were lovely. I believe when we went, there was only one other couple staying on the property, which was nice. We got up every... We stayed 1 night and were more then happy with the room. The bad is huge and super comfortable. Everything was very clean which is rarity in most of local hotels in San Marcos. The location is great too, near the main dock and main street. Also they have a lake side, you can't swim there but you may enjoy... More

Pricey by Guatemalan standards but the steak was very good and my friend had fish which she said was very good and which the French owner swears he gets fresh from the Pacific coast- Robalo. It was nice to get some European food after all the beans and corn flour tortillas. We were the only people there and the lack... More

It was weird but very good food. Saturday night and no one came to eat but us. The very casual owner was nice and hospitable and it seems like he took our order, cooked our food and did the dishes. Location is one of the best on san Marcos. If this was in New York, it would have gotten 2... More

The view here is outstanding, straight onto the lake. Try to go in nice weather so you can enjoy the outdoor seating. The French owner is lovely and chats to you freely. I order the curry prawns. Firstly you'll receive a complementary salad and with bread, then your dish. The prawns were stack up with a nice dose of curry... More

Wonderful food made fabulous by the complex and well executed sauces. Lots of beef on menu, but we had chicken, one with onions in red wine reduction, one with mushrooms and cream sauce. . Fabulous. Owner attentive, nice wine options. Go.

Our second time and the food still very very good. Today we had a wonderful pescado with the best veggies and potatoes since our last trip to France. An unusual find in a hippie town on the most incredible lake in Latin America.

We ate lunch at Tul y Sol several times during our recent stay in San Marcos. The Guatemalan owner presents you with a menu of local and French cuisine. Dining with a vegetarian was easy here, as several dishes are comprised of a lovely array of veggies. The sandwiches were heaped with all manner of fillings, and we left ready... More

This restaurant has a really nice view of Lago Atitlan. The Food is very good but not gourmet. Had lomido, described as tenderloin of beef. One in my party had theirs grilled and said it was dry; I had mine with a mushroom sauce and found it moist and flavorful. Served with nice roasted potatoes, broccoli and cauliflower. All in...
