I have eaten here. Breakfast. Lunch and dinner or just a refreshing drink on many occasions over the past 5 years while in the area each winter. The food is always good, moderately priced, although they automatically add 10% service to your tab. The staff is helpful and the menus are in both Spanish and \English.The view is great and... we dined here when in Drake bay. The food was OK. Lacked a bit of flavor. I am a vegetarian and ordered vegetarian fried rice that lacked flavors. My husband ordered chicken rice, that was great though, as per his review.

Soda mar y bosque is a place for simple, traditional CR food. Their casado is good, and their arroz con pollo or other meat or fish is ok. Their casado was a sucsess for me, and is amixed plate with rice and beans, fried banana and fresh veggies. You can choose meatballs, fish, chicken or vegetarian ingredients. A cheap est that tastes good.... More

Typical Costa Rican style meals that were delicious and the staff was friendly. We spoke to our server about the business and she spoke of how this restaurant was established before all the others and how the family running Mar y Bosque were among the original settlers to this area. We talked about how things used to be and how... More

It’s a great delicious place to enjoy an authentic cooking and well seasoned dish. The fish was well prepared and flaky, with a good side sauce. The menu was quite varied with meat, seafood and veggies choices. The eatery is right in the middle of the town, making it a great place to hang out too. It sits against the... More

We enjoyed breakfast and dinner here during our recent visit to Drake Bay. From the front, the building really is not very appealing but walk in and over to the dining area and you will find a quaint, clean little restaurant. They are a full-service, sit-down restaurant that offer meals from breakfast through dinner. Soda Mar y Bosque offers a... More

If you want an authentic taste of local cuisine, eat here. The fish is fresh, offered in eithier as part of your casado or you can have a whole fish at three different serving sizes. This I highly recommend. They do not speak English but the menu is bilingual.

We had the whole fried fresh fish and quanabana shakes...simply wonderful! The food and place are simple, very basic, but the fish is so fresh and good!

We and several others we knew ate at Soda Mar y Bosque during our time in Drake Bay and loved it. Good food, reasonable prices, and a rather unique view were all appreciated, but the batidos! Oh my God, the batidos... The papaya and maracuya were my favourites, but there were other flavours available, depending on what was in stock.... More
