We liked the restaurant but there was nothing really outstanding. Husband had the meatloaf but that was what someone could make easily at home. I had the chicken. Nothing extraordinary. The portions are large and creatively displayed. We ate outside which was nice but the area wasn't that large. Glad we did it but unless you have a budget that... More

Steps from Old Scottsdale. Pros: service. Knowledgeable, enthusiastic and sincere. Food: remarkable and unforgettable. Served timely. Good beer and interesting selection of drinks. Terrific desserts. Clean bathroom. Cons: lighting a bit too dim to my liking. Prices I find a tad high though the quality of the food is unquestionable. I would go back in a hearbeat: pork cheeks and... More

A friend recommended the Public House while we were in Phoenix. It was Easter afternoon and it was open. Rob was our talented waiter and he had many answers for all our questions. The food was incredible and the cool breeze that flowed thru the open spaces felt good. Reasonable prices, fun cocktail of the day and a unique wonderful... More

Hmmm it seems to have lost its drink mojo. We used to go to Citizen Public House for their drinks but ever since it changed owners a while back and they changed their drink menu it's never gotten their mojo in check. Bring the real drinks back! Ex- The Citizen! You know everyone asks for it- just put it back... More

Our group of four walked in at 6pm on a Saturday night, just before the dinner rush. We didn't have a reservation, and expected to get put on a list; instead we were brought right back and seated! Our waiter, Nick, was excellent! His timing was impeccable. He was there when we needed him, yet we didn't feel rushed. We... More

I was amazed at how wonderful everything was - I really wasn't sure what to expect as this was my first trip to this part of Arizona. The original place we planned to eat at had a 90 minute plus wait, um no thanks...I'm glad though because Citizen Public House was fantastic! Great food, great service, great beers. Favorite menu... We've had some lovely meals here but this one was the shining star! Started off with two winners: the OMFG chopped salad YUM!!!! We also shared the "bacon-fat popcorn "---unbelievably good! The perfectly prepared scallops were served on smooth, wonderful grits---best scallop dish I have ever had. And dessert!!!!!----aaaahhhhhh, the Black and Tan: a chocolate pot de creme with the... This small restaurant in Old Town Scottsdale is a delicious place for dinner and/or cocktails. The drink specialties were outstanding. We had the crudo appetizer, short ribs, and the original chopped salad (which is tossed tableside) for a dinner out and loved everything we ate. Prices seemed reasonable. The restaurant is not large so on a busy night there could... More

Impressive service. After a hiccup when we were seated, the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and well taken care of. From their recommendation, we also tried their modern cobb salad which was exceptional-- salty, sweet, different textures, refreshing. My friend had hers with chicken, while I had the standard with smoked salmon, though the... More

It was recommended by another restaurant to try the Citizen Public House and we were not disappointed. We had an incredible meal with fabulous service in the heart of Scottsdale's Old Town. If you are going for a romantic dinner or causal gathering of friends we highly recommend the Citizen Public House.
