It's a very nice place for pure vegetarians. Buffet at lunch time and ala carte also available. South Indian and North Indian both under same roof. They serve dosas in buffet. Price per person is also reasonable.

Vegetarian only. Tasty food for a good price. Being a South Indian, I am not a fan of the dosa here. I make better dosa. The curry and jamoon always taste very good. Mango lassi is a must try! I visit this place quite often.

Good range of items for vegetarians in their lunch buffet. Avoid the idli (think it is made from rice flour and not directly from rice) and sambar. For dinner, my vote is for Chennai chettinad over this but only because of more variety of items. Taste is as good.

I had the lunch buffet. Best sambar I've ever had anywhere, including India. The serve yourself masala tea is perfect. No sugar so you can sweeten to your own taste, and perfectly spiced with masala. I love that they don't sugar it because I have my own birch sugar, which has the consistency and taste of sugar but is not... More

Enjoyed the staff who were fairly attentive, but the food was average at best with above average prices. Our deep fried fritters with lentil and spices were good, but the eggplant and rice seemed dried out. We also had a vegetarian crepe which tasted as if it had too much pepper in it, which it was not supposed to have.... More

Food way too expensive for the money. The rice was dry and not enough served with your meal that you paid $10.00 for. If you order extra rice that's an additional $3.00 for a small serving. Order soda and it came in a 12oz glass. Asked for a refill. Waiter came out with a can of sofa. A large crowd... More

I was in Phoenix on business, and a few colleagues recommended this place as the only vegetarian restaurant in the North Phoenix area, so I decided to give this a try. I had been wanted to try a South Indian Madras style lunch for a while. When I went for a lunch buffet on a Sunday, I was surprised to... More

This place is worst, still if you want to go, go for lunch buffet but avoid dinner. This place give away GroupOn dinner coupon and they think that everyone who is coming for dinner is having that free coupon thus they treat everyone as free customer. Service is bad and quality of food is even worst. Don't leave TIP in... More

We've been to Ananda Madras Bhavan a number of times over the past three years and generally have been very pleased. The menu is varied, food is very good. Service is consistently attentive. Prices are very reasonable.

I'm sad to say that since it's recent change in ownership, the AMB had gone down in many ways. They no longer have the vast variety of home-cooked Indian food we came to love and the staff who were so friendly and like family were sacked to hire somewhat antisocial, apathetic staff. They can't be bothered with you, for the... More
