It was a rainy day in Gaiman and we looked forward to a wonderful experience at a "tea house" to warm up and "have a spot". The outside of Ty Gwyn was charming; however, we should have been forewarned when a gift shop selling overpriced items was front and central in the restaurant. Overpriced and underwhelmed with the experience. The tea... More

A surreal experience, enjoying a Welsh tea (albeit at 10:30 in the morning!) in a Welsh tea shop, thousands of miles from the homeland. The "Hispanic" setting for a this Welsh welcome was simply surreal while the food, tea and general hospitality was faultless. I was with the Classic Car Rally of the Incas, one of more than a hundred... More

We stayed at Tŷ Gwyn and as a coeliac it might have been difficult but, the skills that enables them to bake wonderful cakes and scones, were used to bake wonderful gluten free pastries after the kitchen closed. If you like traditional tea then this us the place. They are generous and provide an amazing assortment.

We went there with a small group of European tourists. The house is nicely decorated, but nothing very specific about Wales, I have been 30+ times in Wales and saw things much more typical that at 'Ty Gwyn'. However, I understand that people from Argentina feel a little different, as this may be their first contact to Wales and Welsh... More

Not my favorite tea house in town, but this is still a very good one. Surprisingly no bara brith on their enormous, somewhat expensive tea spread. Caters for tourists well, and is a little more Welsh than Wales!

We came across this place on the off chance and were starving so we went for tea. Between the 2 of us we had a huge tea pot, 4 small cheese sandwiches, 4 pieces of white bread, 4 pieces of white bread, jam, marmalade and 2 of 7 different types of cakes. We see absolutely stuffed! We loved the decor... More

We stopped by the Ty Gwyn while on a tour from a cruise ship. We had tea with all kind of cakes and pastries. It was a fun visit and the had some nice shopping afterwards. This is a nice stop!

In Patagonia another tick off the bucket list .I recently visited this lovely tea room as part of a trip from a cruise ship.We had cheese sandwich and lots of cakes including Patagonian wedding cake .A local choir serenaded us with traditional Welsh songs . The waitresses wore heritage clothes which made the experience special. There were things to buy... More

Came here as part of a tour. The building is modern, obviously the cruise trade has let them expand the business considerably, so it is not really a cosy tea house any more. That said the tea and cakes were lovely and we were entertained by a local choir singing in Welsh and Spanish which was delightful.
