While this delightful chain restaurant is indeed not the fanciest of eateries, it makes up for it by being quite delicious. Upon arrival, the first thing to be noticed is the line of rocking chairs and checkers boards on the patio. Everything in the place gives off the feeling of just good ole comfort on the homestead. The inside lobby... More
It was OK, I was surprised to know none of the gravy was chicken based so that took grandpa style out of options. I tried mom's French toast with turkey sausage and eggs. It was my first time with turkey sausage which was good but French toast was not good no berries on top and when I got berries on... More
Great food, many choices, friendly servers, quick service and love the gift shop! Easy to get to off the 202, close to many other shops!
We went here after a CUBS spring training game; very close proximity. The lemon trout and the shrimp were both good; we love choosing 3 sides of veggies. The price is right too. All was very tasty and served within a reasonable time period.
Hubby and I went for their Sunday chicken dinner and were very satisfied. Had a waitress named Ashley and she was very pleasant and efficient. She had no problems with all of our requests, like bring the bread out before dinner and serve my husbands side first. Overall a good meal.

When I requested steak fry's to replace the non-existent greens, I received a small plate with 10 overdone, cold frys from the bottom... More

I crave the sourdough bread, the cinnamon apples and the hashbrown casserole (only my stepmom has better hashbrown casserole!). I loved the "old country store" appeal as well as trying to figure out the uses for the various implements hung on the walls. We go... More
Waited 60 minutes for dinner that never came. Visited by the waiter 1 time in that time and asked him to check on food. 10 minutes later the manager dropped by and told us there had been mistake with 1 of our orders...said about another 15 to 20 minutes (on top of the 60 we had waited) Said no thanks,... They have hearty portions, the breakfasts are pretty good. But what I love is there lunch and dinner menu. Best homemade meatloaf, they offer chicken pot pie, baked chicken. The list goes on and on. Another Great feature is 22 side dishes to choose from with all your meals. Turn turnip greens, in a broth with shredded pork, homemade mashed... More
