Wife and I dined here in December. We had recently eaten at another closed door restaurant in Mendoza and thought it worth trying again. First things first: Gladys and Fernando are excellent hosts. Despite being hardened big city cynics, Gladys' warmth and unaffected friendliness soon won us over. She introduced us to her daughter, showed us family photos and showed... More

A truly lovely dining experience. Not only was the food delicious, but Gladys was a wonderful hostess, and Fernando a gracious host. It was a unique, intimate dinner that felt more like a dinner party than a night in a restaurant. Gladys even brought out her guitar to sing some songs. Really wonderful from start to finish. Not to be... More

This has to be up there with my most memorable dining experiences! Gladys is such a lively and welcoming person that we felt at home immediately . I could practice my Spanish all evening and the food was excellent and freshly cooked. Fernando is a passionate cook and it shows! I would recommend them highly and hope to come back... More

This was the first time I've been to a restaurant which is in someone's private home. We arrived with a group of 6 people and it was a great experience from end to end. Gladys met our taxis on the street to make sure we could find their location, and welcomed us into their home. The entire experience definitely exceeded... More

From the moment you are warmly welcomed through their front door, Gladys and Fernando make you feel right at home: Mi casa es su casa! Gladys is impossibly vivacious and totally relishes her role as hostess for the tiny gathering of guests for the evening's meal. We were one of just three tables during our visit (I think there may... More

It's hard to describe in words the experience at Lo de Fer. We had a wonderful evening with Fernando and Gladys. The thoughtfulness put into the meal was amazing and we were spoiled in that the menu was prepared around our preferences. It was our first experience with this type of "home" restaurant and it exceeded our expectations. Gladys is... More

Amazing. Incredible. I think one of my favourite ever dining experiences. Gladys should be running for President! From the moment you arrive, (welcomed with open arms) to the minute you leave you feel like you are part of the family. Fernando is an accomplished chef and each course (stuffed mushrooms, trout, dolce de leche brownie ) was so tasty it... More

My husband and I tried Lo de Fer on the last night of our stay in Mendoza and what a treat it was. Gladys and Fernando are lovely people and Fernando is an excellent chef! We had our dinner in their cute home with music and candles to set the ambiance. We selected a bottle of Malbec from their local... More
