We happened upon Manolo and enjoyed the local color, the good food, the old-time wait staff. What a wonderful evening!!

We are 2 pastas and salad, 1 was homemade ravioli and it was great and not a big dish, the second was the homemade gniocci a huge dish. We paid 440 peso because of the hidden price 25 peso for service per person.

Excellent local lunch spot in San Telmo. Ask for the Sunday lunch pasta special. A la carte is fine too. Good selection of Argentina wine, mid price is a no fail. Home made desert special also a no brainer. Great local flav in ambiance and services by lifelong local garçons. Much better than any touristy stop in the San Telmo... More

It's easy to say - the food was so bad. We had been looking forward to a great argentinian beef, but is was such a disappointment. The beef was full of bones and fat, and it was difficult to get a some pure meat. We payed 435 pesos, not worth 100!

I live at 50 meters of that place for the last 5 years and never went there. After having a friend telling me to go, that is the best place near by and so on, I've first ordered food on the "delivery" way. It was ok but there was some metal of the steel wool used to clean the pots...... More

THIS IS A MUST GO! If you are looking for typical Argentinian food, this is the place! After having meal in 2 restaurants in Puerto Madero, including the famous La Cabaña, we took the advice from a Argentinian friend who lives in Buenos Aires and we went to Manolo. This was by FAR AWAY the best meal we had in... More

An ordinary Argentine style restaurant in a town dominated by ordinary restaurants I doubt you could distinguish this menu from any other. It seems more is better so the menu is impossibly long without showing the slightest shred of originality... but that's okay Argentines it appears are unadventurous eater who shun originality so your Manolo experience will at least be... Large menu with lots of options. The food is only average and below. That's why you cannot complain too much (quite affordable prices if you compare to other similar places). The service is again just OK - courteous and effective.

I went with friends and we all liked it immediately. It's a busy restaurant but you don't feel any pressure and can enjoy your meal leasurly. It is mostly frequented by local people. The walls are full of football memorabilia plus a large portrait of Manolo (?). To make a change from the usual meat dishes I had rice with... More

We had our first argentinean steak here. It was a good start. We both had bife de chorizo but sifferent kinds. Theres a nice variety of accompanyments as opposed to other places that serve a lonely steak on the plate and ask you to get sides. The waiter was a really nice guy and helped me with my struggling Spanish.... More

Staying in San Telmo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.
